Hi! I'm hoping someone can help me. I recently participated in one of the challenges for the first time and when I uploaded my photo it was too small. I had found a post that suggested resizing it to 500 pixels square at 72 dpi to upload it so that is what I did. I later found a different post stating the max size should be 700 x 700 pixels so I replaced it with one that size. It still looks too small. Some of the pages in the gallery I can click on and make bigger. Then I can see it very easily. That doesn't seem to be working for mine. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Welcome to the Designer Digitals gallery! The size of the file that you uploaded is 168 pixels by 168 pixels while most of the layouts that are posted are 600x 600 or 700x700. Check the size in your Image Size box before you upload the layout and it should look just right in the gallery!

Like Cassie suggested it looks like you resized to 700x700 and THEN reduced to 72 ppi (thereby further reducing the number of pixels). I always skip the 72ppi bit (I believe is only for printing - to tell the computer how fine to print the dots on the paper. The spread of the pixels on your screen are defined by your screen resolution)

The layouts you can click on to make them larger are bigger than 700x700. But that often makes them a little blurry in the gallery before you click on them.

yes it will be the order you are altering I think.
in the image size box, skip down to make it 72dpi then go back up to make it 700x700 which should be just perfect

Actually I just go to "save for web" and reduce the pixel size to 800 (it changes to 72 automatically) It has always worked well for me...welcome to DD btw!

Thanks everyone for the help! I was changing the size before the resolution simply because that was the first choice on the list. I had no idea changing the resolution would reduce the number of pixels even more! I have a lot to learn!
