Default Stroke an Acrylic Letter

I thought I had seen a post, where someone had explained how to stroke an acrylic letter without making the letter darker. Does anyone remember this?

I thought I copied the post bur can't find it. And I think Pattie Knox had been the one to explain it.

I would love it if someone could tell me where to find that post or tell me again how to accomplish this!!

Thanks a bunch!
