Default 2pm Colour Chat Notes

I am so sorry for all that were at the colour/color chat & i was absent b/c of my internet not working all of a sudden. I had so many cool things to post & talk about. My hubby just got off the phone with them & they ended up giving us a free month b/c of the issue. (AS THEY SHOULD! dont they know i have important people to talk to?!)

Sooooo my friends .....

Here are some of the things i missed out on sharing with you guys & some i did share ....
--------------
I love this site for its amazing creativity and the pure talent shown here
Yulia Brodskaya : Illustration

I like looking at palette sites to see what is new & inspiring. I found this site that shows the colours in different amount. This can easily translate into a scrapbook page!
Palettes :: COLOURlovers

Amy butler - love the fabric designs & colour combinations here
Amy Butler

I love monochromatic colour schemes to add drama & interest to pages. I found this site that has lots of cool inspirational photos. Love the variety of colours & textures that can worked into a page easily!

--------------

I love this page by Melissa Hill … she used a neutral background which allows her photos and papers pop because they are in colour.

I have been trying to use more colour and pattern on my pages by using a piece of patterned paper for the background paper. I love the boldness of how these kinds of pages will contrast in the books once they are printed. Be sure to try this concept on your next page!

This page is just stunning by LoriS - it is such a perfect example of the simple concept of pulling colours from the photo.
My Beauty - Digital Scrapbooking Ideas - DesignerDigitals

This page by Laura is another wonderful example of pulling colours out of the photos to use on your page. She has mixed some fun patterns together.

Here is a fun example of a monochromatic page by scullen2 (connie)

This is a fun example of spot colouring. I haven’t had this concept work for me …. But seeing this fun page makes me want to try hard to make it work! Awesome work (muddy girl) Sam!

Here is another example of spot colouring by Jana Morton:
Sweet Pickings - Digital Scrapbooking Ideas - DesignerDigitals

I love how patriciaz uses a white background usually for her pages and then uses colour as a powerful element on her layouts. On this page she added some fun colourful element and journaling but the bright, fun photos take centre stage!

------------------

Thank you so much to Tara being online & i was able to call her to relay a bit of info through her to you guys. Congrats to DebbyO for winning the $5 GC to the designer digitals store! Thanks to melissa & elena (and any others) who were trying to stay focused on colour during the hour.

------------------

Hope you guys are a little bit inspired & will try out MORE colour on your pages. Maybe even try a patterned paper background? You can do it! I will be keeping my eye on the gallery!

Thanks again & I AM SO SORRY for my crummy internet!

Fabulous web sites-love, love the "this is glamorous" site!! I had another appointment and was so disappointed to miss your chat. So sorry your internet went down, that must have been extremely frustrating! I can see that you had a lot of great information to share.

Hey Kayleigh.... I was able to catch the last 15 min of your chat... sorry you couldn't be there!!! Thanks for posting these links!!! Love the website for the color combos!!! Makes me want to get out all my "color" design books from college! I am truly inspired by your pages and will keep experimenting with color! ... also, I am just BEAMING that you cited one of my pages for inspiration... very exciting for me and an honor that you remembered that page! That was kind of an accident... just color changed the photo.. the green grass was overpowering, but didn't want it to be B&W, so i enhanced the reds... and then the page was born!

~toodles!
