that's the reason I haven't hit the "buy" button yet, but I already am feeling a little extravagant at the amount of items in my cart.... lots of goodies! :-)

If you break it up into more than one purchase it doesn't seem like so much

Or, if you use two (or three or four) different credit/debit cards it doesn't seem like so much at the end of the month Need to spread it out equally ... sure don't want a card to feel left out of this special event

Doesn't work for me... can't outsmart my cpa hubby that way. Plus, when the debit card downloads to quicken, it is just too easy to see all the charges. But I have gotten my sweet guy to add digi scrap supplies to our monthly budget!!! So as long as I show some restraint, I'm usually ok!

That and breaking it up into smaller purchases is just like calorie distribution, right? Like if you eat half a cookie at 10 a.m. and the other half at 11 a.m., you've really only eaten half the calories? Or something like that . . .

Linda, it just gets worse . . . bwahahaha! I think Randy & Katie are secretly in cahoots with "The Colonel." They, too, put an addictive chemical in their "chicken" that makes you crave it fortnightly.

(If you haven't seen So I Married An Axe Murderer, it's a must-see. One of the funniest movies ever. You'll never think about earwigs the same way. Or bad poetry. Or the Gettys, the Rothschilds, and "The Colonel.")

Anke, it's Mike Myers at his finest. So funny. The side-splitting humor wouldn't hold up through dozens of viewings like Monty Python does, but I've seen it five or six times and still laugh. The scene at Charlie's parents' house on the couch with Anthony LaPaglia (the scene I quoted from---the "Pentavirate") is possibly one of the funniest I can recall in any movie. I believe it was improvised (I think almost all of Mike's lines in that movie were improv) because Anthony is trying his hardest not to laugh while Mike delivers his lines. It's a classic, but for a very particular demographic.

Sarah, I knew *immediately* what you were quoting! That is TOO fun!
"HEAD, Paper, NOW!"
(I've seen the movie enough times to quote pretty much the entire thing..sad, but true!)

This thread is cracking me up though, I love it! Helping me through my fixation with the "supplies" tab!

I like to say that if you break the cookie in half all the calories fall out. That must hold true for purchases too - i.e. if you break it up the money doesn't count?
