Exclamation Everyone in San Bruno area okay?

Just saw the news and the awful fires. Hoping there aren't any DD members affected. Please check in!

That's about 17 miles north of us, up the Peninsula next to San Francisco. I didn't even know about it until this morning. Very scary!!!

I believe Katrina and Kathleen are near Sacramento - hours away. Squeak is in this area too but a bit south of me. Tesia lives around here too but I'm not sure where.

Hope no one was in San Bruno yesterday...

We are safe here - San Bruno is about an hour south from us. Sounds so scary though! Thanks so much for checking in!
I know that Kathleen is even further north/east(?) from me, so she should be clear...not sure about where Katrina is though.

Just after I posted my response, my cousin posted on Facebook that her brother (who is in the San Bruno area) "fell from a roof yesterday at work and suffered fractures in his neck and a broken pelvis along with other injuries common with a fall from 35 feet plus. On top of it all he was in General when fire victims were taken to there so he was put on the back burner for some time." So, I guess they are not in fire danger, but need some major thoughts and prayers for him from his fall! Thank you!

Glad to hear that it looks like everyone's okay. Sounds like such a tragedy I can't imagine. We were under a fire alert the other day and I think about the woods that surround us and just how scary that is. Tesia, I'm sorry to hear about your cousin, hope he makes a swift recovery. Denise, sounds like you're awfully close but I'm glad you are not affected. Hoping everyone else is alright.

Good to hear everyone is well and escaped this tragedy. Tesia, your cousin's brother will remain in my thoughts. Wondering about Adryane and Chris (Casbury). I believe Chris may be in the east bay area; not sure about Adryane.

I just got an update from my cousin's wife. He is surprising everyone with how well he is doing. He broke at least one vertebrae, his pelvis, and his left "chicken wing" as he puts it, and has strained some ligaments in his 3,4 and 5 vertebrae, but he has movement in all his fingers and toes and can even roll from side to side. They are going to see if he can stand tomorrow for more scans. Apparently the broken bones didn't separate which is a really good thing - would have called for emergency surgery, but as of right now, he may escape surgery all together! We feel SO blessed! Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!
