This will be my first chat participation. I am new to digital scrapping and have not worked on a page for probably 5-6 mos so am VERY rusty. i am still just mostly looking and buying stuff here and there. What can i expect this Saturday? Is there any way to prepare? I printed out the schedule. Do you just talk or do you make things? I am not sure if you make things if i could keep up but i don't mind just watching and learning. Just wondering and a little intimidated ( :

No need to feel intimidated. It's just a bunch of digi-scrapping fans hanging out and chit-chatting about what we love to do. Some chats will be targeting very specific skills while others will be very open-ended, general discussions of a topic. Never feel pressured to join in on the conversation (sometimes it goes by on the screen VERY quickly). It's okay to sit back and enjoy the show.
![]() There will be a freebie given out every hour. The hostess will post the freebie at the beginning and end of the hour (and maybe a couple of times in the middle). It's best not to ask things like "PLEASE POST FREEBIE" during the middle of a chat as it interrupts the flow of conversation for people trying to follow along. I promise that it will be posted again by the end of the hour for all who may have missed it. ![]() Here is a thread to help you with the chat room. It's really a lot of fun, and we look forward to seeing you there, Rhadonda! http://www.designerdigitals.com/digi...room-tips.html

I think the biggest challenge during these events is to actually extract ones-self from the chair to eat or drink or communicate with the family
![]() My tip for the day if you would like to do the scrap challenges, is to open the full screen chat room in a new browser window (you'll see a link to it when you click on chat). That way you can make the window a little smaller and put it on the side of your screen and still have space to open freebies and do a little scrapping in Photoshop at the same time. It does require your pretty good skills in multitasking!

Cassie if i may ask you a question? I went to add more tutorials to my wish list and i noticed a lot of them mentioned the information had been distributed during a chat. How do i participate in these chats? Where are they listed? Are these separate from the quarterly chats? Thank you so much. Please tell me if i should have made this a separate thread or contacted you personally. I want to do things right.

Before a new "How'd They Do That?" tutorial goes into the store, I have a chat where I teach the technique and distribute the tutorial. I put that in the description so that people who came to the chat won't buy something they already have. I don't have a regular schedule for those chats right now, but if you keep your eye on the Chat Schedule, you'll see one when it comes up.

See you Saturday, Rhadonda! I know you will enjoy the chats. I still do a lot of just watching the screen in many chats because the conversation moves so quickly. Try to check in on as many of the hourly chats as you can because the freebies given out each hour are really wonderful. It's a great way to add to your digital stash!
Good reminder to everyone: Like Cassie pointed out, the links for the freebies are posted several times throughout a chat. If you come late to a chat, just be patient until the link is posted again.

One more thing that I find helpful is that you can tell it not to automatically scroll (I think there is a vertical line with arrows on both ends if I remember correctly? You just click on that and it turns it on or off). Sometimes it is very hard to keep up! Also, the chat history is a great way to catch up if you were away from your computer. I try to clear out my history every hour or so when I'm home because I've had trouble with it cutting off at some point and then I miss a part of the chat I was trying to "record" ... hope that helps! It's really a fun day and even though I'm not going to be able to be around for half the day, I hope to make the early morning and late afternoon chats!

Don't worry if you can't keep up. It's great fun just watching the conversation go back and forth.. the first one I went to I didn't 'say' a word.. couldn't even keep up with the reading. the second was a little better and I think the third one I actually chimed in a bit.. if you're not used to 'chatting' online it's very intimidating so if you can't keep up just sit back and enjoy.. the ladies here are tooooo funny.. oh and download the freebies you can always use them later.

Glad you are coming to some of the chats - they are fun! I am excited that I can actually make some of them this go around. I'm trying very hard NOT to miss Cassie's 30MM chat - they really challenge me... in a good way!
Don't worry if you can't keep up at first. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the fun. Probably after a couple hours you will be used to the quick pace! :-) |

I can't wait to come to the chat also and begin to get to know people. I have followed and read for quite a while but maybe this will help me get back into learning and doing. Some of the titles of the chats intrigue me, not sure what they are but how fun. I agree with Esther about the challenge to leave the screen to do food, etc. I have yet to explain to my husband why i will be staring at the screen all day. Also usually someone posts a thread about what they are looking to buy during the sale. That always helps me too but my wish list is pretty long already. A bunch of Cassie's tutorials. ( :

Can't wait! I'm setting my alarm for 5am to catch the first chat (ahhh one of the downfalls of living on the west coast...we are 3 hours earlier) but it will be worth it.

Like Rhadonda I'm also still very much new to the whole digi-scrapping world
![]() Love looking at all those wonderful layouts everyone posts here. The chats sound like so much fun just from some of the titles already! I'm in continental Europe, so time-difference will probably make me miss a lot, but will definately try and join some of them.
