Can you go to your applications folder and click on the icon for Lightroom?
My LR icon is in my dock at the bottom of my screen (MacBook Pro) but I can also access it from the applications folder.

From what you say, it sounds like Sam is onto something. It's probably a shortcut that doesn't work. You should see the Lightroom program in your Applications folder if you're on a mac - in my folder it's called Adobe Lightroom 3, and is almost at the top.
You can access it from the Start menu on Windows. You will probably have to click on "All programs" to see it if you haven't opened it from there before. If you're on Windows 7, you can right click on the dock/taskbar icon when you have opened it, and choose "Pin to Taskbar" to have it stay down there and be easy to access.

I have tried all those ways to open (I have vista); I tried my shortcut, I tired from the start button and clicked all programs and I have also tried opening it from the photograph itself. the only time it opens is when I have new photos to import... strange.. :/
It is only a trial period, but Adobe said it should work as if I bought it for the 30 days.. I guess for now I will upload new photos just to get it to open.. Thanks! Kristen |

That is strange. I had a similar thing happen with ASeeDc (Sp?) then it kinda killed my computer, at least I'm blaming that!
I would uninstall, then reinstall it and see if that helps. Just make sure your back up your database to an external source before you do it just in case, but it should leave your catalouge there and will find it again next time it opens. HTH

Hi lpate,
I actually tried that too - but no luck! the only way it opened was when I inserted a memory card and imported new photos and another strange thing.. I can't open just one catalog and I can't seem my photos on the bottom scroll - I have to click on a gray square to see the photo... I actually took Matt Klowskoski's (sp?) class and it seemed SO Easy! It could be because I only have the 30 day trial and it maybe doesn't offer everything.. who knows.. I think I will stick to CS5 for now. ![]() Thanks ladies for all your input! |
