Default 1 more ? How do I link to Flickr now?

I swear I used to do it but with the newer format I could not figure out to link to the screenshot I just uploaded. I wanted it to show in the post and not be a link.

Please tell me help is on the way.... TIA!

I wish I could help. The work around way I figured out only works half the time.

OK, that worked...
What I did in Flickr was
* Choose Share This from the menu above the photo
* Click Grab The HTML
* Click BBcode (that's Bulletin Board code - the same as here at DD)
* Copy that code and paste it in the post!

Very easy!
I'm so glad they made it more accessible! And it even includes the hyperlink as well as the image.

That's only if the share option is there. Not everyone has their "share" option turned on (including me, maybe I should turn it back on to make things easier). You can still view the source by right clicking, but that only works half the time and I really haven't figured out any rhyme or reason to it!

Well, then there you go. I've just now figured out why it works half the time!! If they have the share option available, the view source thing doesn't pop up. Instead it gives you the place to download. So now I know how to make it work 100% of the time.

Oh, I see! If Share This is enabled then the right click on the photo doesn't work! But you can still right click on the page to get the View Source.

And if you don't want the link to show, just delete the second half of the bb code - the bit between the last [url= and /url]

I just found this at flickr:
Quote:
Where is the HTML code and photo file link?

The HTML code to embed a photo in a web page that you used to find on the All Sizes page is now only in "Share this." To get to it just go to the main photo page, click "Share this", and then "Get the HTML." We now also include BBCode! (standard message board code)

There are a few cases where the code may not be available: 1) If the photo is restricted. 2) If that person has turned off "Share this" or access to original files.

The direct link to a photo file is no longer shown on the page. Per the "Flickr Community Guidelines" pages on other websites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr." Linking directly to the photo file doesn't do this.
I hadn't realized that we contravened Flickr's guidelines if we posted a link to the image but not a link to the flickr page it is on!
At least the BBCode has the link in it (on the photo AND on the text below) so we don't need to worry about it if the Share This option is available.

Esther, that policy has always been in place. The photo alone is now a link back to Flickr as your photo illustrates.
