Default Would you ever do an album over?

I've been thinking about taking a mulligan on my Disney album. The first digital album I ever did was an album from our vacation there in 2007. I thought I lost all my photos after a computer crash last year, but I just recently recovered them off my husband's laptop.

There aren't even any DD products in the book because I hadn't found this site yet!

The album itself is pretty aesthetically unpleasing. I thought about giving the existing book to my daughter and re-doing the project for me. Sort of a way to re-live the vacation . . . is that totally whacko?

Has anyone ever re-done stuff? My old paper albums are embarrassing, too, and I thought about going back and tackling those again.

I've never redone a digital album, but I have completely redone three paper albums into digital. I also completely redid several old summer vacation albums as a big new paper scrapbook (before I discovered digital)! And that's just what I did . . . gave the old ones to the kids.
Each time I've redone something, I've been SOOO happy with the results, and glad I did it.

I think if I posted some pages, y'all might tell me to start workin' on a redo posthaste. They really are offensive to look at. That said, if you're happy with redoing paper albums, this really isn't any different, and certainly cheaper in the long run! I might seriously consider it as a fall project.

Yep-I have redone 2 albums! Both were paper albums that I have redone digitally, the first one so that I could give copies to my sons and the second one because I had more pages to add and I had already switched to digital so I just redid all of the old ones-

If you've got the time and it's something you want to do for you and your family then go for it! I've redone many layouts in digi that I had previously done in paper....which might be why I am so far behind! LOL!

I think if you are not liking your old pages....then thats the key. The reason I am so far behind on my 2007 cruise book.....is that I did about 1/2 the book before I found DD and I was trying to do all the pages with freebies....'cause you know....."they were free!" So I have been going back and redoing those pages and I am so happy.....my family thinks I'm nuts.....but I have never worried about what they think anyway. So if you have the desire to redo them...just do it!!!

If I could ever get caught up...I'd redo some older pages. I'd make a more cohesive 1st year book for both my kids, there are so many things I'd redo better now, lol...BUT I'll never be caught up!!!! But I don't think your crazy for wanting to do that!!!

I would redo pages only if I was totally caught up, but I don't thing that would ever happen. Too many photos, too little time! If I totally hate a page, I would find the time, but that would be for only a horrible page. I think if it was that horrible, I would not have completed it enought to print or upload it.

I have been scrapping for almost 20 years and digital for about 7. I have SO many albums that are hideous (think shapes and edger scissors!) but I don't have the time. BUT what I need to do is scan all of those ugly pages because my kids don't care and it would be nice to have them printed and in digital books for them.

I would probably *intend* to redo an album. But since I hardly ever finish anything it probably wouldn't get done! Unless, perhaps, if I went for a set of templates and papers, etc and kept it simple.

That's where I'm feeling it . . . I'm leaning toward a template set, that's the hard part. I think I can copy quite a bit of the concepts from the first book. Hmm . . . Anna's MultiFoto templates would make this really easy.

Well I wasn't going to respond to this thread but since evidently I'm not the only one who "hardly ever finishes anything"... I would love to redo all my paper scrapping albums (about 20) into digital photo books.. I never liked them even before Digi Scrapping came along because they take up so much room but unless I win the lottery so I can stay home and have a housekeeper, cook and chauffeur the chances are probably slim to none that it would get done.

NO.

Life is way too short to redo the past. Move on. Really.

I also think this is a lesson in growth and not being critical of ourselves that you can leave to your children. You did the best you could At The Time and now that you know more/better/different/your style changed/whatever you do things differently. That's how we grow - as scrappers, as cooks, as parents etc

Scrap the present day or the day that inspires you and leave the past albums as done deals- with the skills you had then. When I think of the agony and tears I had over some of my earliest work...and one of those was Ali's December Daily, a challenge at the best of times, I enjoy the memories of those trying times because I'm not that bad anymore. At least in my own mind! Spit out those "worry pills" Sarah, and have fun..today.

(I made up worry pills thinking that could be for fretting similar to the Southern having 'razor soup' for breakfast as being sharp tongued . Hope this makes sense.)

Yes, I've redone albums and pages. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to those types of things and it just bugged me to no end to look at those earlier pages. It bothered me so much to the point that I couldn't enjoy the book which is why I didn't even hesitate redoing the book. Now my kids on the other hand, they don't care what the page or book looks like. They're impressed no matter what. But me, I'm my worst critic. And no, I'm not even close to being caught up on my scrapping. But I redid them anyway!

Why not? If you have the time and you really liked the vacation and you don't like the album you have.... I would say go for it!!!

templates make redo-ing easier. I like to redo some kids school albums with Cathy's templates or maybe Kayleigh/Katie will do a school days album with lots of cool embellies (hint hint)

I would redo if I had the inspiration, and the photos were important to me. Since you're thinking about it, I think you do! Luckily my scrapping took off when I found DD, so I don't have many layouts from before that.

I have redone layouts but not albums. I left my paper albums just as they were too. I shutter when I view the first two years worth of albums (did I really have to cut my photos into shapes) but I have left them because they say something about who I was at that time and what I was creating.

Of coarse, the main reason for not redoing an album is because I still have loads of photos to scrap. I just can't imagine being "caught up"...

Denise, you sound like me! My digital style is so different from my paper style. Now, my friends always used to give me grief because I never did cut my photos into shapes, while they happily made hearts, pinked squares, circles . . . I bought the circle cutting system from CM and used it once. I never got the hang of those durn decorative scissors.

But I thought I'd do a couple of LOs and see how the juices flow. Maybe this is a great take-a-break project. Our life has been crazy, and I gave up on Project 365. So this would a good filler until I have more everyday pictures to pick up the slack.

I'm thinking seriously about doing some of my first digital LO's, but I'll have to stay home longer than a month at a time. I'd love to have a cohesive look to Ava's first year book. I have abandoned doing a book for each grandchild and will just do a yearly one for me and holiday ones for the family.
