PSE won't recognize the zoom touch on my Wacom

I posted this on Jessica Sprague too, but thought I'd see if any of you DD experts have seen this problem.

I am running PSE5 on XP. I have a pretty new Wacom pen/touch tablet, and it was running fine for about two months. One day the tablet zoom feature through the touch screen stopped functioning in PSE, for no apparent reason. The pen is working fine, and I can tap the screen and navigate by touch; it just won't zoom by touch. I can still zoom using the keystrokes on the keyboard, so I know the zoom feature itself in PSE is working.

I have checked the preferences in PSE, and it's set to zoom with scroll wheel (which I think is the correct setting; at any rate it doesn't work whether this option is checked or not). I have loaded the current Wacom driver, and uninstalled and reinstalled the Wacom. The Wacom tablet features are correctly set to zoom by touch.

The support guy at Wacom had me try a bunch of stuff to strip the preferences in PSE and reset the preferences on the Wacom, and nothing is working. The zoom feature works in other applications.

I am stumped as to why the zoom touch feature on the Wacom would suddenly stop working in PSE5. Any ideas on what to try to cure this? TIA

I have the pen touch and PSE but I'm still a novice and haven't tried the zoom. I shall try this weekend and get back to you. It sounds like you've had to go through a very frustrating process with little result!

Hi Esther! Thanks. It was working, then stopped! It is supposed to work like the touch on an iPhone, you flick the tablet with two fingers in opposite directions and the screen picture gets bigger as you stretch your fingers. Once I got used to it I loved it. I'm really stumped about why it would suddenly stop working (and so is the guy at Wacom!).

I stumbled on the answer myself, and thought I'd post it in case anyone else has this problem with their tablet. In PSE make sure under zoom tool it shows checked on "zoom all windows" and in preferences Uncheck "zoom with scroll wheel."
