Photo Swap

Anyone want to do a photo swap?

Back in my paper scrapping days I would participate in photo swaps. We would use snail mail to send out our photos across the country so that they could be scrapped by someone else in the scrapping world. It was always so cool to see my photos scrapped in someone else?s style and perspective. I always LOVED the results. I?ve been thinking how much easier this process could be in the digi world. If anyone is interested - here is the procedure?

*I'll leave this thread running for a week

*Type in your name if you want to be in the photo swap

*I will randomly pair all of you together

*Check back here in a week to see who you have been paired with ( the list will be ready at noon on Wednesday, July, 21 EST )

*You will then pm your photo swap buddy to exchange information so that you can send each other your photos. (e-mail address,journaling, etc.) Make sure you can receive pm?s. (I know mine was full at one time)

* Create a 12 x 12 page using DD products.

* Be sure to post your photo swap page in the gallery (I?d say try to get the photos scrapped within a week or two)

*If this is successful ? we could do this monthly or bi-monthly

*Feedback is welcome to make this a fun and smooth process!

Oh, what the heck, I'll give it a try---are we limiting it to one 12X12 layout or something like that? I'd be tempted to send someone all 2,000 of my pictures that need scrapping otherwise!

Yes, I think one 12 x 12 would be perfect for this photo swap. You could send a single photo or multiple photos for that one page! Great question and thanks for participating!

This sounds like so much fun...great idea Amy. I would love to do it but a little worried about the time line because starting at the end of next week, I'm going to be missing in action at DD for a couple of weeks...but otherwise, it sounds like a ton of fun.

Can I make a suggestion - do you think you could set up a separata gallery for Swapped Photo Layouts or something like that - so there is one place we could look for our layouts.. if not, no biggie..I"m still in!

Amy, since I've never done this before, I have a question. Do you send your partner a picture or 2 of edited photos, or just they way they came out of the camera? -or does it matter. What are the guidlines of what you can do with the partner's photo?

Hey Debby - I've also wondered if I was going to send some edited photos. I suppose that is totally up to you. You may want to ask your partner if she wants any editing done to her photo or if she wants them used "as is". Today's the day to get our photo swap buddy - I will start a new thread in just a bit!
