Default Acdsee Keywords?

Hello,
I just downloaded Acdsee and I've started categorizing items...but, I can't seem to find out how to add a specific 'keyword' to an item.

For example: I have a paper that has apples on it. I've put it in my pattern paper category...but, also want to 'keyword' it as apples.

Is this possible? If so, can someone lead me in the right direction?

Thanks!

I would add "apple" to the file name so that I could find it using a search later on.
I have a category for embellishments and in that I have subcategories for hearts, flowers, buttons, staples, animals, household stuff, weather (clouds, sun, raindrops) etc, etc. But I don't think it would be worth making a specific category for apples. I often do searches for specific things like "key" or "balloon" or "candle" using the file name. I always use the search for wordart because usually the wordart has the sentiment in the file name and if not I add it.

In the properties panel there are a "Keywords" area where you can write in your own keywords. (Both on mac and windows versions).

In the menu bar, press View-Properties to see the properties panel. Or press CTRL-K (CMD-K on a mac) to view it automatically.

To assign keywords, just mark the files and write the keyword in the text field.

When you have assigned keywords, you can use the quick search area just above the area where things show up to search for them.

One thing to keep in mind when changing file names. Older versions of Photo Manager didn't play nice with long file names. I haven't heard of any issues with PM 12, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Long file names sometimes caused the program to lock up.
If you are going to add in a word into the file name, you might want to delete out some unnecessary characters if the file name looks too long.

I usually use keywords for word art and for kits with a lot of ephemera. For ex. I have the element tagged with the category Ephemera and then I might have it keyworded "eye glasses" or "bird cage" or whatever. HTH
