I LOVE the quality of the books from Shutterfly, particularly the covers vs. Blurb's books. I ordered 3 books from Blurb earlier, was impressed but thought the colors were rather dark but not enough to stop using the company. It's more cost effective to use Blurb for larger books too, which was my deciding factor at the time of ordering. However, it was cheaper for me to order my fewer page books from Shutterfly (using their 30% off sale + free shipping over $30) so I went ahead and ordered 4 books (12x12) on Saturday and they were delivered yesterday already! Things I noticed:
1. Shutterfly's pages are heavier than Blurb's regular pages. (I'll be ordering a book from Blurb using their premium paper shortly so I'll update when I can see the difference) 2. Shutterfly's covers are much nicer, love the glossy look vs. the dull matte look of Blurb's covers. Plus the "feel" under my fingers is nicer on the Shuttterfly book. 3. Colors are more spot on from what I saw on my monitor in the Shutterfly book vs Blurb's. The only thing different was one book where I had alot of tan and lt. pink papers. Those printed lighter than what I saw on my monitor but it's not a deal breaker. Skin tones are pretty acurate, which is huge for me. 4. Both companies had excellent packaging. Can't complain about either of those things. 5. Blurb's software was MUCH easier to use than Shutterfly's though. Wish shutterfly would make that a little easier! Overall, I think I'll be using Blurb for my larger books but sticking with Shutterfly whenever I can.
