I bought supplies for paper scrapping but never made one page because I learned very quickly that one messed up stamp and it's history. So really I never paper scrapped. I also didn't want so much little cutesy stuff that I was seeing in a lot of places.
Digi? There's rarely a 'mistake' that can't be corrected or CMD-Z'd away. Britgirl really said it for me. I can look at something and imagine the steps that I could use to duplicate or fashion in my own way. I am much more of a journalism than art person so having a whole new avenue to create has been an absolute joy to me! I only wanted to have fun with what I'm doing and I sure am. Community? It's icing on the cake, and I love the digital friendships and connections, not to mention the wonderful advice! Dick says "Call Apple" when I have a question. Naw, I'll just go to a Forum!

I love the CTRL-Z button...and it doesn't waste money or supplies to use it
![]() I also like to hide layers to see if I like my LO slightly different...which I guess you can also do with paper scrapping before it's all glued on but it's just not as easy to do. I LOVE that I can re-use any item I paid for ONCE, over & over & over ![]() Oh yes, and I especially appreciate the lack of mess/clean up time I need when I'm all done!

I'm with Laura - it is a beautiful thing. Instant retail therapy gratification and the ability to pick up and come back later. Right now, lving the marriage of scrapping and Lightroom. Whether on a layout, a paper or embellie, the possiblitlies are endless. Oh how I love you Digi!

I love that it integrates my passion for all things computer...I love new software and new methods and the PLAY of all that with the beauty of the wonderful products we have here at DD. I love being able to "hold" the stories of my life and create real books that hold the stories for my grand people...their daily doings become visual memories. I love that it gives me solid, irrefutable rationale for more photography equipment.
Actually, at this point, I can hardly separate this digital art interest-way of being-passion from my sense of self. This IS me. and my husband says the same...just last night I heard him telling his closest friend...I never see her anymore....she has this international group of friends on the internet and...I never see her.... lets just say.....I am STILL in love here at DD with the magic of what we do.

The best part of digital scrapbooking for me is the "oh, no, what have I done....let's get rid of that" button! Seriously, though, I love the look of paper albums and especially the board books but I'm trying to do one now that should have taken maybe a couple of days and it's been sitting on my table for about six weeks! I don't like what I did on the first page and - of course - there's no magic undo button! I'll still do a few small paper albums but at least 95% of my work will be digital!

I love it because of many reasons...
I can sit in the tv room and make no mess I can download what ever I need and use it instantly I can replace decorations or papers or photos as manytimes I want to I can shop new things as often as I want to ![]() There are so many cool things coming out all the time |

to everyone, especially Debbie! The cost is another thing for me. Scrapbooking supplies are more expensive here in Norway than in US, and there's a limited collection to choose from. With digital, I can buy anything my heart desire, and not have to worry about shipping costs and tax.

Just "look"??? My goodness, but you ARE an artist Anna!
What I love about digital is that I can print off pages and let my kids have them. They can chew on them (happened more when they were younger), rip them, doodle on them, cuddle them, fold them, read them again and again and just plain love them, without Mama hanging over them worrying about little parts getting lost or things getting ruined. It's so easy with digital to re-print! Lack of mess and reprinting are the main reasons I liked digi when I first started and I still like those reasons now. Of course, I've added to the list since then, but you guys have already mentioned those!

Thanks for all the great responses ladies! I agree with most of what was said except the "less expensive" answers! LOL! It seems like digital designers come out with products much more often than paper and there is always something new in the store that is a "must have." Sure there are the favorites we can use again and again, which is awesome to be able to do, but new products are the best and sometimes what gives me the inspiration to dig in and start creating!

I love reading these! Most of my reasons for loving digi are the same as everyone elses.
the biggest one for me is the space thing though. I just do not have the space to do or store paper scrap supplies. With three little ones it would just be too messy and not feasible at all. With digi all I need is my handy dandy puter. And I can do it so much faster!! not to mention the cost difference! will always stick with digi I think! |

I still love to paper scrap too. But totally agree with most replies but i'm not convinced on the "its cheaper" theory. Whilst it could be cheaper i can't help noticing how many of us have to do lots of digi classes, need the latest photoshop version, the wacom tablet, yet more gorgeous supplies, better printers, computers, cameras............

I love the fact that a digital page never "HAS" to be "DONE". I can get the basics down (pics and dates and some basic journaling) and then set it aside and work on something else...for 10 minutes, or a year! (And it will sit quietly on my harddrive in the meantime, clean and safe, no wrinkles, no large hairy cats laying on it.) At some point, I will go back and add the perfect embellishment that I just found, or change the journaling, or try out a new technique that I just learned. I may eventually print the page...and then print it again sometime later for some other purpose, or for another person.
I am currently working on a series of layouts that will eventually be printed three times...all differently and at different times depending on the need, the person they are going to...and my finances! Imagine doing all that with paper supplies! CT |

For that reason, I do not do separate books for my kids. I might do a baby book for my son at some point, but since I have all my albums saved on the computer, they can simply print them whenever they want their own copy.

Totally digging this thread!
I think everyone has mentioned my reasons that i prefer digi at least once- even being able to do it in bed  I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed last year and I was still able to scrap while drugged up on pain meds hahahah!! And that brings me to my next favorite.. Ctrl-Z!!!! Between being able to undo everything and not ruining something while in said pain and medicated state, I didn't lose a darn photo or paper or finger (Oh I can relate to the scrapper that tried paper and cut her finger on the Xacto knife! Nothing like bleeding all over a piece of expensive mulberry paper....) I love the lack of mess and expense-- being able to recolor and resize and reuse. (I feel so "green"- digi goes good with my tree huggy nature. And...I love being able to find stuff. Thanks to ACDSee, I can find stuff on my hard drives no matter how messy they are. If I tried to look for something in my closet for paper scrapping, I probably could (and would) get lost.
