This week I am choosing a series of pages to spotlight. Member "scullen2" has been posting pages she's creating for her father's 70th birthday gift in which she documents memories of his influence on her life. I have found myself staying up late on multiple occasions just because I see that she's posted new pages and I can't wait to read them. These pages are a perfect example of why people should keep scrapbooks.

Great choice Cassie...I have really enjoyed all of Connie's pages! I'm jumping in the game early today. I LOVED this page by Adryanne. The photographs are stunning and I love how she put it together with the brushwork behind...fantastic page!

This page by Elena also blew me away....beyond gorgeous and so, so powerful!

Great choice Cassie!!

I can never limit myself to one page. So I will pull out two pages from the Art Journal Gallery - which I must say again, it is inspiring to see what people post there. Good stuff!

First, a fellow-Norwegian Anxela's page amazed me with it's texture, colors, message - simply wonderful:

Wow, Aino, as someone who is art journal-challenged, I'm stunned -- and delighted -- that you included my page as a favorite. Thank you so much!

I loved this page by Sam (muddygirl). It brought back my own memories of stomping on anthills, and a grid gets me every time.

I am so glad Cassie chose scullen2's pages. I've poured over them, too, loving every one!

I'm adding Kathie's wonderful page with her exploring dog. I adore everything about it. It makes me want to follow the little guy wherever he is off to!

So many great pages in the gallery! I enjoyed this one by "Shanah-rhymes with Donna." Gorgeous page and loved the fact she scrapbooked her own lovely photos.

Cassie, you made an excellent choice. Those pages are wonderful and what a fantastic book she is making. This week I put so many in my "favs" folder. First is Nath's Wonderful You. I love the layering, colors and stitching. The photo is terrific, too.

Also, Adryane's "Ben." Love the clean, graphic look and the photo and color choices.

This week I chose Squeak's Lucky page. She described her design process of building her usual busy page (which I can totally relate to) but this time removed elements a little at a time and finally decided on this streamlined version. I love the result of the two facing photos surrounded by the simple scattering of elements.

Can't even begin to narrow my choices for this week! Fortunately some have already been mentioned. I'm going with Anke's 'Believe in Miracles'--she's really created a feeling of peace and serenity and how cool is that text path that continues the winding creek?!

And Aino's 'Loose' commorating the big event of the month in their family! Such cool title work and use of color!

I've been working really hard on my photography this week and have gotten way behind in the gallery, so it was a real treat to see most of these pages for the first time--and to see Cassie's dramatic storyboard of scullen2's amazing pages. Nobody does it like DD girls!
