Default Photoshop CS4 preferences file

I was wondering if I'm the only one that has to delete my Photoshop CS4 preferences file about every other day? It won't show options in the panels (like layers in the layers panel, brushes in the brushes panel). Is there any other way to fix this than deleting the preferences file? I'm on a mac (SL)

I suppose I could lock the file, but it's nice to be able to do changes once in a while...

I'm on a PC and never have to delete the preferences file. I would post this question in the Adobe forums. You'll get a good answer quickly.

It has become a constant with me on my macpro/CS4... very frustrating... adobe not helpful... I mentioned in another post that everything "snaps" to the top left of my screen and won't let me edit. Maybe Adobe will address this in a fix or next version. Not happy here

Carol, do you use a pen tablet? This wasn't an issue until I configured my tablet for use with photoshop.

Ok, here's what I did for now: I deleted my preferences file. Then I opened Photoshop again, did all the changes I want for my workspace and closed Photoshop. Went to Finder, clicked "Get info" on the Preferences file, and clicked on "Locked". I'll let you know if this helps at all.
