Default Use dates!

This is probably obvious to most, but don't forget to add a date somewhere on your pages! I spent the whole day yesterday sorting my old paper pages, so they would be in chronological order and it was driving me crazy! The old ones often times didn't have a date so I had to guess as to the year they were from. Today I do a lot better but I still catch pages with no date. At least now they are in order on the computer so I can always go back and check but it's so much nicer to have it there to look at too!
Btw. Thanks Jen for the tip on the Ringbook album, I have it stuffed full with old pages, it is fabulous. I have to order some more. It feels so good to get organized!

Goodreminder Anke! I nearly always name mine with the date in the file name (e.g. 2010-02-20 Title) so that helps...but it is a pain to get a whole batch printed and not have the name on it then!!

I am really bad at this sometimes. I print my layouts right away and put them in albums but what if they were taken apart? Thanks for the reminder!!!!!

LOVE those albums... it makes life easier. But, thank Ali she is the one that used them first =)

I thought about this the other day Anke. Luckily, I haven't made that many pages yet but I have to get on track! Thanks for the reminder

Thank you Anke for the reminder.. it's so easy to forget to put a date I think because when you're doing it you know when it's from... several months later it's not so easy.. gotta go back and check now :-)

I must have go into the habit early, cause I put a date on every page I do. I nearly always use it as a way to embelish my page.

Great reminder Anke! I usually put the date somewhere, and I always name my files by "month-year description" (i.e. 01-10 Heritage Pets)

Great reminder. I remember a post by Jodi (topic: scrapbooking rules), where she said that scrapbooking has no rules, but that she has a few rules for herself. And one was that her layouts always include a date. I'm thinking this rule should apply to me too.

Great reminder, Anke!
I think I put a date on every single page I make. Sometimes when I journal back in time, I put the actual date of journaling and date of the taken photo.

One of the only "rules" I have for my LOs is to make sure I include a date. I used to just do the month and year on some of them, and that drove me crazy when several months later I was trying to put everything in chronological order in my album, so now I'm super careful to make it exact!

OMG, this is something I am really bad at. I rarely put a date on a page. I always save everything into the month and year files and put a date in the file name. I never thought about what would happen if I sent a bunch of individual LOs off to be printed. I have even put them on before and then taken them off as I find them distracting. I guess I better start using them.

Excellent advice, Anke. I just got a truckload of pages printed and spent some time this afternoon sorting them into chronological order. I've gotten better about putting a date on each layout, but it's those early ones that are driving me nuts.

I don't know if I have made it a habit or not, but I will now, good thing I'm a slow scrapper and don't have very many LOs to check thanks for the tip Anke!

Since I scrap my photos mostly in chronological order, I am TERRIBLe at including a date on my layouts. Something I need to dramatically improve on.... I find myself going through old (paper) albums and trying to remember what year that was...a date would be helpful.
