Default Crazy Question...

How the heck do you keep track of what you already have purchase when you are looking through the gallery to buy stuff?

I have so many things I've already purchase or gotten as freebies from here. I'm telling you it takes forever for me to shop because I can't remember what I have without having to go look through my scrapbook stuff folder. There has got to be an easier & better way than my current one.

I don't know what to tell you about freebies, but for purchased items I check my account history. My digi stash isn't organized enough yet to look through it.

I check my purchase history and I've started organizing all my goodies with ACDSee, so it is much easier to see what I have.

I took the spreadsheet that they make of the new products, and picked out what I had purchased. Then I add to it at every purchase.

I keep a spreadsheet also and add the names every time I purchase.. it can be sorted by name so it makes it easy to check

I check in ACDSee Photo Manager to see if I already own it. I can't tell you how many times I repurchased the same item before I was able to find an organizational system that worked for me.

I have a spreadsheet, too. I wait until I get an email, then I paste the date, order number, product name and price into it. Then I delete the email. I can be slack and get behind but can always check my emails to catch up!

I really should make one of those spreadsheets, it's a great idea! So much easier to work with.

Since I am on a Mac, I type the name in Finder or Spotlight to see if it pops up, it's not perfect but it helps

i've probably re-purchased about 20 things over my life as a digi scrapper. so, i 've taken to just looking back in my stash to see if stuff is already there. i have a tendency to gravitate to the same stuff over and over, so i finally learned to CHECK before i buy something. the way i have my supplies organized, it's easy to see whether something is already there.

I check before I buy (in Mac's finder) but it's been those once free, now for purchase items that have fooled me before. I've tried to ONLY purchase on one computer too...for the most part.

I wait for the day when the sales part of the site says...You've Purchased This Item...as Randy once said it would. He didn't say when but I know the method is doable because it comes up at other sites.

I keep all my supplies in folders by designer name. I doublecheck in the folders to see if I have already purchased something before I check out with my new stash. So far I've only bought duplicates of a few things and that's usually when something was renamed slightly differently than what was listed in the store.

So far I dont think I have any duplicates, although I have ACDSee, I have my supplies in folders and I go through them regularly to see what I have. When I buy, I back it up on a cd and then put it away in its proper folder. I will also say that most of the time now, I stick with new product-unless I am in awe of a page and must have something, then I check my supplies before I buy. I spoke too soon, in organizing today, I found a duplicate!!! Oh well!

I think he said it would be ready near the end of this year. I did wind up accidentally buying two items during this sale that I already had. Oh, well. At least they were on sale! I had put them in my wishlist a long time ago, and purchased them but forgot to take them out. When the sale came along, I put my whole wishlist in my cart and bought it all at once, without even looking at what I had in there. Normally I check before I buy. I was too excited to spend the money!

If you already purchased it here before, can't they look up your purchase history and issue you a credit?

I've never tried to mess with that, I always consider it my carelessness that causes a double-purchase. I really could have checked; if I had just looked at my wishlist instead of jumping up and down with excitement, I'd have noticed the product looked familiar.

I'm sure if I mentioned it, they would help me out---DD has the best customer service---but it's got to be worth more than a $2.79 pain in their tail. I just shrugged and said, well, that designer knows I'm a fan!

I make a spreadsheet also and update per the links spreadsheet. And I have asked for a replacement on a few things I have bought twice and Randy always sends the replacement download link asap.

I have done that a few times and Randy was sweet enough to give me credit when I showed him I had already purchased the item. The customer service around here is OUTSTANDING!

BTDT!! And when I first started using Photo Manager-I even found zips of kits I had bought and *never* even unzipped.Oops!

Now I do a quick double check in Photo Manager to see if I have it already.
Between Lyme-Brain and general forgetfulness, I have had to rely on that more than once.

Hoping by late summer to have the new system up and running. Not sure if I can bring in old orders but would do this going forward.
