Thumbs up Show Us Your Favorites!! (02-01-10)

THE FAVORITES THREAD IS FOR LAYOUTS POSTED LAST WEEK. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE PAGES POSTED AFTER SUNDAY, JANUARY 31ST.

Please show us pages that use DesignerDigitals products and provide a link (click here to learn more) . . . so we can see the details of the page in the gallery.

Thanks to all of our great new blog challenges, the gallery is FILLED with amazing pages. It was really hard to choose this week, but I'm sure all my other favorites will pop up in your posts! I finally decided on this page by Marnie from the Art Journal gallery. It is wonderful in so many ways:

I look forward to seeing YOUR favorites!!

Sometimes a page in the gallery speaks to me not only for the beauty of the page, but, for the subject matter, as well. Here Chris (aka Casbury) shows us her artistic looking albums for keeping her scrapbook pages and in her description she talks about all the thought and planning that can go into deciding how to preserve and organize our pages. She came to the conclusion you have to enjoy the process because we might change our plans many times as go along. Her albums look way prettier than my attempts at album organization, but, I, too, have many different styles and sizes I've tried. Sometimes, I don't like that they all don't match, but, I'm going to follow the advice of Chris and just enjoy the process. And, I may just have to lift this page and photograph my collections!

I want to add that all of the layouts in the Casbury Gallery are so pretty. It's definitely worth spending some time in her gallery for inspiration.

I'm loving all the new art journal layouts. Lovely stuff ladies. But Action! by Kelly (mugsbigsis) is so fun, creative and full of love that I chose it.

Awesome is the only word I need to say about Katrina's photography and scrapbooking skills. I could put every one of her layouts in my favorites folder, but this one is just over the top. I'm a total pushover for macro shots. Oh, and I love that pink and green color scheme. I've said more than one word, haven't I?

There are sooooo many great pages in this thread already!
I'll add this one by Phylis. I love the way she puts her own stamp on everything she does. Love it.

I added this one by Tracy (jazzmatazz). The photos and the lovely letter to her children make this a very special page.

Cassie,
What marvelous encouragement to see my layout pop up this morning! This page was therapeutic for me and I'm thrilled it was meaningful to others as well! First thing, Monday mornings, I head to this thread for inspiration and an opportunity to enjoy pages I've missed through the week. I love that we celebrate each other's art here at DD!!

(At work, back to post here later!)

LOL at Denise's comment "move over Disneyland!"

Loved Doris' (echogirl's) AAM page. Loved the design, and I am in awe at her accomplishments!

OK. let's try again.

i could have posted any of the pages done by HeatherPrins, documenting her journey with her mom through some difficult times. it was amazing for her to have documented the journey as she was living it, then put it all together with the many pages she created from the experience. a very moving collection of work.

Oh, thank you, Merrilee, for including my layout this week. I had fun scappin' my scrapbooks!

For my choice, I'm including Mel's (aka Britgirl) Go the Distance layout. Not only is the relationship between the graphic photo and the digital elements right on, but I was drawn into her honest and heartfelt journaling about a difficult time. Kudos to scrap therapy.

Haven't done this for awhile, so let's see if it works.

Anybody know why the layout I posted above for Mel (Go the Distance) came out so small?

Thank you, Denise. It was fun to use those pics on a page. :O)

My fave this week is this one by Adryane. It's simplicity just adds to the emotion.

I had Applechick great layout in my favs too. The other one I had was one of Kayleighs (of course). I love how she can you find just the right patterned paper so as not to overshadow the photos. And who can resist sweet Makenna.

This fun, energetic AAM page by Carol (cstaff) jumped right out of my Favorites file from this week! Love how her design and alpha reflect the title content!

Adryane, bless you! You've made my day!!

Several of my favorites have already been named, including Adryane's fabulous Haiti LO. A couple others caught my eye this week as well.

Jodi's "Just Look At Me" LO grabbed my attention and never let go! LOVE the photo, and the use of the notebook as the backdrop is just perfect:

Then there was Carollee's "Ouch". I guess Cathy's class is giving me a real appreciation for simplicity, and Carol's LO gets the point across succinctly but with a great eye for detail:

Finally, Karen's "No Time for Soaps" hit home with me! Loved the extraction and the simplicity (there's that word again) of the design of her AAM page:

OK, one more ... Adryane's out-of-this-world AAM page showcases her creativity so beautifully:
