Default shutterfly question

i know that the templates are slightly smaller: ie: 7.95x7.95 for 8x8...

do you still recommend that we keep all of our work 1/4 inch from the margins so it's not cut off?

thank you!

stacey

Download the Shutterfly templates and that will help too.

So that means anything I uploaded to Shutterfly will need to be...resized and re uploaded? I don't really want to think about this.

I design all my pages 12X12 and keep everything at least 1/4 from the edge and had 8x8 books made. No resizing or anything. My books were perfect.

At least 1/4 inch, I actually leave more room now and they still cut stuff off!

For all my pages (101) on my DS's book, I made my page 12 x 12 how I wanted it to look. Then I selected all the layers, transformed and shrunk to about 97 to 95 % and then added a new background paper ( even if it was the same as the original ) and put an outer glow on the original background paper. All my pages then had a border and I knew that nothing would be cut off. Then I ran Katie's shutterfly ready action and flaterned and saved as jpeg. His book came out perfect, no cutting off.

eta: I didnt know about the 1/4" and I had already made most of the pages, but I would still do it this way next time.

I've never resized anything, or used their templates. I leave 1/4" from every edge without any text or important details. The gutter in the middle will be a solid 1/4" for each page. Anything that extends beyond 11 3/4" from the left and from the right will be lost in the binding.

All my books have been perfect. I create in 12X12 always and just load the 8X8 pages in, they are resized automatically.

I have lost a little something a time or two but mostly it all works out if you just think about not taking your journaling to the edge.
