Default opening files on iphone

I have a 4 hour plane ride next week - and I'm only expecting my laptop to last 1.5-2 hours of that.

Instead of getting a paper book, I was hoping to get either one of the DD e-books or the daily dose as a pdf. Does anyone know how to read one of these on an iphone?

there are pdf readers in the app store... so I'm guessing you could transfer the books and view them with the readers but have never tried that myself... maybe someone has first-hand experience...

I just emailed myself one of my smaller 3MB pdfs and it views just fine as an attachment in my iPhone mail. I downloaded GoodReader Lite (fully functioning, just limited on number of files saved) because it's highly recommended. I started reading the "how to" help file on getting files from your computer or email into the app. It was too much work for me. Not that it would be hard, but since it worked from the email, I didn't bother. It does let you view large files and "reflows" the text to make it fit in your screen space though. Might be handy for an ebook.

I have the GoodReader Lite on my i-touch and it works great! The DD e-books work great with it too

Did you find it easy to follow their file transfer instructions? Do you use the wifi transfer or email?

I'll see what I can find out with file transfer. Since I'll be on the plane I can't use my email, so that is my big issue - how to save it to my phone and open it later when I don't have an internet connection.

I use the wifi transfer. I am bad though and didn't read the instructions... I don't have the patience to read instructions! To use the wifi transfer there is a little icon you push which then has you enter a web address into your computer. From there you add the documents you want.
