I know how much the weight of his MBP is an issue, so the iPad sounds like it's got his name on it. Much easier to read books than on the iPhone too. Somehow has a March birthday so it's in the cards I'm sure.

I've been following this too Maureen and think it was built just for me! The pad doesn't get in the way of movies, it's large enough to see, light enough to carry anywhere. I like it a lot!

oh yeah, my husband has already appropriated our tax refund for this baby! (he has been "wearing me down" for months!!) I am surprise that it isn't more expensive.

The official "commercial" for it really just makes me drool. Of course, that could be related to their BRILLIANT decision to give the part of the spokesman to the guy with the accent.

I think it's kinda goofy looking. I've been following the story as was very excited about the build up but was a bit disappointed. It seems to be an over glorified kindle. I don't see a purpose or use that my iphone or laptop (or even my pc if needed) can't do. At&t is saying cha ching cha ching.

Speaking of apple...they are so bitter over googles nexus one phone it's rumored they are going to replace google on the iphone with bing! At least that's what NPR is reporting. I don't think there is any phone that even comes close to the iphone, apple has nothing to worry about. Just my opinion.

I'm with Michele. I have a MacLaptop Pro, an Iphone and a Kindle. For me, it is just another "thing". Yes, it is "Cool" looking and I'm all about Mac, but how much more "Mac" do I need?

I want one! I don't know that it really compares to a kindle though, since the kindle screen isn't backlit so it's better for reading.

I think it is really cool and I will get one when I can - not available yet in Canada. I really think this will keep growing, kind of like the ipod did. Now there is the iphone, ipod touch and so on. As far as the reader goes, I think this is just the beginning. I still love my books but there are a lot of things that I would rather put on one device and pack one thing with me rather that 4 or 5 books. The Kindle seems cool but this does so much more for about the same price.

I'm "in" with the iPad.

It looks very slick. I'm not adding it to my wish list yet, though; these things always improve on version 2+. It would replace my laptop for travel and do the trick nicely, I think!

Are you talking about the very charismatic designer, Jonathan Ive? If I close my eyes, he sounds like a couple of my nephews.
You should hear him talk about the mouse, he has a way of talking about inanimate objects the way my granddaughter talks about her boyfriends!
