I know how you feel Mary, but I had to make a choice on LO early because otherwise I knew I wouldn't do it. And although I still like my choice, I've seen so many others and thought ew, oh, that's nice I should have thought of that and so forth. Anyways, I say pick a template and go for it. My 365 design was inspired by Carollee and Elena's 09 365. I say choose a template that you can alter and make your own. If you think you will get bored with the same design throughtout, pick something that you can change fairly easy or just switch of the papers every few months or so. Whatever, just choose something and get going lady, I'd love to share the 365 journey with you!

Can I admit something?
I haven't finished last years... And I've not even started thinking about how this year's is going to look! I've blogged every photo and have the story of each. I want something different than last year, want something simple, just haven't made up my mind! The year is still young

I have decided to do P365 the easiest way this year. I'm waiting for my Project life kit to come any day now. I will just print photos and on the go I will write little notes from our day. I love the idea of this project, also that I can put little drawings from my children, notes and other stuff from our everyday life into those little pockets.

thanks for sharing that Katrina! I am not done with last year either...
I am not going to sweat it - when I finally decide I am going to make it simple so I can keep up with it!! angela! you are so sweet - thank you! I like the idea of the same template, but I can always move it and flip it around : ) |

Well, last year when I was in the throes of it, I told myself that I was going to make this year's LOs super clean, simple...very little embellishments, etc., so that doing the LOs wouldn't be so cumbersome. Then, the day I finally sat down to start the 1st week this year, I was in a scrappy mood and went all out...no template at all. I know I'm going to be sorry later, but yes, for now I am caught up.

Till this past weekend I hadn't decided if I was going to commit, coming up with a design was holding me back, plus reading post here, alot of you loved doing the project but felt it was holding you back from being creative, you all missed just scrapping for fun. So what I decided to do was, make a calendar with all the photos and a month summery on it, which gives me the freedom to scrap special days or photos from each month and still include it in my book.

I'm only in week 10 of last year
I got uninspired. Guess it was because I used the same supplies all the time. Maybe I'll try again this year. Or maybe I won't...

I got my 2009 book back from Shutterfly and had a moment of regret for opting out of this project this year. My foot is nearly healed, flu is gone and FIL all settled in to his new digs. I will take pictures starting in February and put my favorite 100 in a book at the end of the year.

I havent picked either. I've done 2 weeks in different layouts. I WANT clean and simple, but I keep gravitating toward layered and embellished. Katrina is right, the year is young.

I haven't finished last years 365 . . . I quit after about 20 weeks . . . I would love to pick it back up, because I totally love the templates I used.
This year, I am doing something totally crazy . . . I am doing a page each day with my POTD. Very simple . . . no embellishments . . . only a few words and a couple of Ali's dates. So far, I'm caught up on them . . . I am printing them out each week and putting them aside and will figure out whether to use an album or have them spiral bound at Kinkos. I would love other suggestions on how to put mine together. I know that I cannot find a book that will print nearly 400 pages!!!

These are just a few that I thought of using, before I committed to a freebie template by Pattie that I altered. Ok it says I'm limited to only 4 images in my message and I have 5 so I will post another message with my 5th example.

Hi. If it makes you feel any better...not only am I still playing with template/layout/background paper choices for my P365, but I am still deciding which background paper to go with for my Daily December pages
. Since DD & P365 are my first actual "digital scrapbooking" projects...I keep second-guessing myself and end up switching things around. Then, I also see all the beautiful layouts in the gallery, and I just want to change it up some more. I have given myself until Monday to make a decision and commit to the P365 layout design just to get it rolling. I am going to try to go simple, since I am still feeling my way through Photoshop Elements. My thought is to finalize a template that I will keep throughout the year for consistency, and change the background papers each month for variety. I have been taking the daily pictures and jotting down little notes, but will to try to make forward progress this week. (she says with good intentions )

I've done a template for the month (already posted in my gallery). I think I'll run with that. It's very simple. But I also love my pictures bigger!! So I have been inspired by Mel to try a photo per page and print 7x7 with Blurb. I have a very simple template I'm using for that, too. Pity Blurb doesn't do 8x8 or 10x10!

I am using a very simple layout and have got into the habit of placing the photo in the template every day and then just adding a line of journalling. No embellishments and I am happy with this. I know that if I was actually scrapping a page each week it would never get completed as I am a slow scrapper. This is working well. My first weeks is on my blog and I'll probably put the others up later today.

I did nothing for the first three weeks of this year than play with my 365 layout. The problem is there are so many options and I was afraid I would see something I really liked after I was committed. I really had to think why I was doing the project. It was to have a visual diary of our lives for the year, so I knew that I wanted the photos to be the feature, so I chose a format that allowed that to happen, and now i'm happy.
It is simple and quick, and I can still do all the other "fun" scrapping because i'll have the time. Mary, decide what you want from the project ( the photos, the stories or the scraping art etc.), and that might help you decide on a layout. My two cents worth.

Mollie, Mel did her 2009 365 project this way and I think her book was 350 ish pages long. She got it printed at Blurb. That might be an option.

Mollie, you can print up to 440 pages (I think this is right) at blurb in a 7 x7 format, soft cover book and use only a photo per page. Mel did hers that way from 2009 and it is gorgeous.
