I swear I woke up several times last night thinking......well, maybe I jumped out too far....maybe I should just shift these writing ideas to a blog column only and forget about the gallery...
My daughter, back in 1974, when she was eight, before the digital revolution, had this expression..."MOM, patience is a VIRTUAL." Back then it was just a mis-pronounce but it became our saying for wait. Now firmly in the digital, virtual world....I am glad I followed her advice. I was about to give up on the PageKraft idea and then this morning when I came back from the gym.....WHAMMO. FOUR new pages and now...even more. I am currently in the edges of Maine with dial-up so I had to wait til I could get into town to comment and share and generally jump around with delight that there are others who want to go down this road, too. This first time we're on to the Biggest Story of 2009, as suggested by Anna Aspnes. Next time (February 1st) Katrina will be leading us into the PageKraft: Click adventure. Thanks to all who have shared their true stories and very fine writing skills. Check out the gallery here: PageKraft:WriteTrue and Click The focus will not always be on hard stories but it is good to have a place to share the pages that require deep thought and a few extra days to put together. Come and share with us. And also....pages don't have to be just in response to the current blog ideas. I just put up a page which is the beginning of a writing project I expect to work on all year. Share your writing with us and let us know how much feedback you want!! I'm off to check the gallery.......

Totally love this idea and so happy you and Katrina began it. I haven't posted anything yet but am hoping to come up with something. I probably won't do the retrospective thing for 2009 because looking back is not my thing right now. I have worked very hard over the last few years to look forward. But who knows where the story will lead me once I sit down and start to write it. There certainly are a lot of stories and life that I want to get recorded so thanks for giving us a place to do that.

I think it is an awesome challenge-I love to journal-especially when I am in the middle of a paper!! The break to explore my own minds seems to unfreeze my academic mind!
And the next-find adventure sounds like it will be a great time for all of us

I knew from the beginning that I had to do this. 2009 has been such a hard year for us and it was really good to write it down (although hubby will probably kill me). thanks for the challenge, I loved doing it

Yes, patience is a virtual! I think a little bit of a slow start for PageKraft may be due to a couple of factors which I'm sure you've already considered. First, pages of this depth take time and courage--once given the opportunity. Second, there were so many new DD choices about the same time--PageKraft, AAM, and Hybrid. All three hold great interest for me. Prior to these new challenges, I made a personal commitment to do more art journaling this year and the heritage challenge is truly my scrapbooking heart beat! Not to mention the getting off auto thing and expanding my camera knowledge! What's a girl to do?!
All to say, I think it's an important road to go down and I'm pleased you and Katrina pursued the vision for the PageKraft gallery! Carry on!

Oh my, Patricia, I just decided to try this.
This is torture. I can't see the screen, I'm crying too hard. And you're probably going to think you need to bill me after you read this stinkin' thing! I don't even know where to put the picture. There's no room after I told the blasted story. ![]() Well, I'll give it a shot---it might make it into the gallery!

Ok, Sarah. This is so intense. I will be checking the gallery tomorrow. I love that this is blooming in the hearts and minds of all of us. Cause I have a whole lot more to nudge us along.. ... not always into pain either...sometimes into delight and joy and savoring of each day at a deep level. Thanks for coming with us.
and Sarah, could I just add....I love that I am not the therapist here...I am just like all of us....working my way through. I have my skills which I'll give as wanted but I LOVE being able to be a player here too...that's why I'M here. And it is sweet being with this group of smart, open, intense women. And any men who can give it a go!! HA!

It's just so cathartic to write something down, even if it won't make it into a book. (I don't know where it would go!) We let each other see those parts of us that are so personal, once we share them, I feel like I've made some connection that can't be broken, even if we never meet each other in the flesh. It's that sense of community that I cherish, even if it is a virtual community. I couldn't express this story to my friends in speech, really, it's so much more clear and pure in words, on a page. I love it! It was good for me to do. This story was so much more happy than sad, it was truly an example of terrible things working out for good and lovely things. It's a happy story!!! I promise.

It's up there. I'm too tired for credits, it's all DD product, I'll catch up in the morning. Got to go stretch out my legs and get some rest.
