Question Running Scripts in PSE6 on Mac

I am considering buying some scripts on line which say they are usuable in PSE. (e.g. auto renaming of your layer with the product name!) They are on sale until midnight but darn if I can find any info or tutorials on using scripts.

Does anyone here use them on that Mac software? I don't mind doing the fiddly bits - well I mind, but I'll do it - but I really don't know anything about the installation and the use.

Help?? tia all you clever ones out there.

Well it's just as well that no one commented. I got involved in something else last night and totally forgot about my impending purchase. I think I will buy one at full price...$3.99 ...and test it out. Am I the Scripts-beta user??? :-)

Sorry, Maureen, I'm the enemy (PC user) and I don't know how to install/run scripts on a Mac, if they're any different. I hope it works for you!

I'm sure it comes with instructions. I am planning on getting the same scripts. I'll let you know when I do.

Ok, I bought some. The one I installed first, rename a layer, came with a .jsx and a .png and an .atn file. It works fine. The second one I went to is called as the first one is a Script. This is to save your files automatically as a .psd,.jpeg and a couple of preselected web sized .jpegs.

However, it has only a .jsx file. Am I missing something or can a stand alone .jsx file work?

Jenny, did you purchase and install any yet?

Well, no surprise it was user error. User bought the PS version of two items, not the PSE version. I wonder what that user was thinking, or should I say she was overly anxious and not thinking.

Fortunately, the company knew only too well what I had done and said it could be rectified. Sigh...
