Default ok...tell me how to do this:)

...cause you guys are a fountain and wealth of information! i have a little 5.5x8.5 binder that i am using as a sort of anything goes album/page planner type thing. i would love to make some digi pages for it.
so how do i go about making pages that small? and then putting two of them on a sheet of 8.5x11 so i can print them economically?
did i make any type of sense?

If I'm understanding your question, here's my advice:

First I would open a new blank file in PSE (or the software you use) and in the pop up window that comes up set the dimensions for height and width the size you want for each page. Make sure it is a size that 2 of them would fit on an 8 x 10 sheet of paper. Create the page digitally and save. Create the 2nd page the same size and save.

Now, open up a new blank file and make the dimensions 8 x 10 (or the largest size your printer prints). Open your completed jpeg files of your pages and place both of them on the blank 8 x 10 file. Now, you can print this page out with 2 of your pages which you will cut out and trim for attaching to your planner. I would probably print the pages on white cardstock instead of on photography paper, but, either way it would work.

Hope that made sense!

Well... I would start by creating a new canvas in PS/PSE with those exact dimensions. Create your design and save as a jpeg. After you have created your pages and want to print them, I would open a new canvas at 8.5 x 11 and drag each of the smaller 8.5 x 5.5 pages onto the canvas. Then print.

Clear as mud?

Just want to add a couple of things to the great suggestions. When you create your new document the size you want to be sure the DPI is 300. (I have forgotten this.) also you can, from that first "creation" page, you can also name it (planner page) and save it. So for that second and future pages when you open to create a new page, you just choose it! HTH.

Also, if your printer can do it, try setting it up for borderless printing. Not sure how it all works since I don't usually print at home and haven't used it, but it might get your pages to print the right size instead of fitting to printable area.
