Default what's your favorite 365 template?

This last year I completed (well sort of- still behind in my journaling) my 365 project with the Becky Higgins kit. I think I'm going to be attempting this project again this year except in digi format. I need help though. Can you all tell me some of your favorite templates you've used this year? I'm still very new at digi scrapping and must keep this project very simple if I want to have any hope of finishing this time next year.

Thanks for your help and ideas.

I made my own template this year. I think I have some pages in my gallery.

I rotated the template and flipped it every week to try to keep it looking fresh. There is a lot of room for journaling, though, so it doesn't suit everyone.

Joey has a great template she made herself, too. Here's her gallery.

Good luck!

I LOVE working with Anna's MultiFoto Templates No. 27 Series. They have variety and go together so well. It was nice for changing things up yet keeping things consistent!

27J is by far my favorite in the series! I used it several times, flipping it for a different look!

I love these ones by Anna. Lots of girls used them so I am sure there are quite a few examples
I changed out templates every month so I just looked for templates with 7 photos =)

I also loved using Katie's Cluster Frames... I believe this one in particular has 7 photos in different arrangements... so useful!!

I've just bought Cathy Zielske's Template number 25. It is simple. I can keep up with simple. Plus she said we could just scrap 7 days in a month. That sounds good to me. (the lazy way out of 365!)

I modified Anna Aspnes' Typical Week template to use. I like it as it has lots of space for journalling.

I switched it up regularly; I like Anna's 27 series mentioned above (though I felt the need to adjust them to suit Shutterfly trim needs), but also Michelle Martin's Layered Memories No. 13, 18, & 48, as well as Ali Edwards's Layered Template 33.

I'm planning on starting a P365 6/01/10. This will be my first attempt. I was planning on using Anna's 27 series templates but got nervous when you mentioned having to adjust them for Shutterfly. I use Shutterfly for all my photobooks. What did you mean "adjust them"????

You can take a look at the 365 gallery for some ideas, too. Most have links to the templates they used.

Thanks. I did look through the gallery, but I'm still drawn to the series 27 group of templates. I just want to know what kind of adjusting needs to be done on them to be usable with Shutterfly.

Shutterfly will trim approx. 1/8" off the outside edges of the page and you will lose about 1/4" on the inside edge in the gutter, where the paper goes down into the spine.

What I usually do with that series of templates is either 1) don't put a person's face or important details in the places that bleed all the way to the edge, or 2) I do my whole layout, then turn the gridlines on, link all the layers except for my background paper, and click on corners diagonal from each other and drag in 1/4". (Does that make sense?) Then you'll have the background paper at full bleed, and your other elements (photos, paper, etc.) will be within the 1/4" safety zone. They say they only trim 1/8", but I find 1/4" gives me much more peace of mind.

this year I am using one single set of templates, Lynn's ScrapExpress #55. I love it!!
If you click on the link you can see one of my pages there. I use the same color, just change the background every other week. I am all about simple and flow this year

Coming in a bit late, but I did what Sarah did: select everything but the background and make it slightly smaller so stuff was within about 1/4 inch. It was not difficult and I love the book I made, these pages included. If I were doing it again, I would probably use these templates for the whole book rather than keep switching it up.

Thanks Carollee!

I used Ali's template for every one of my pages last year: Ali Edwards Layered Template No. 15

Sarah, this weekend I decided to try out your suggestions. Once I was done, everything was 1/4" from the edges, including the papers which go to the edges of the page. (I'm using the Anna Aspnes 27 series templates) Does shutterfly trim each side of the page? I'm just wondering how it will look if the papers do not bleed to the edge, and they stop just shy and the background paper shows instead. I want the paper areas to go to the edges. Also, when I make the the layout smaller, am I just dragging two corners in or all four? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

For me, it is all about the photos so I chose this template by Anna MultiFoto Single Layered Template No. 04
and I am not worrying about what might be trimmed-I think it will all work out in the end!

Okay, I see what you did. Hmm. I think I've been using the 27 series for so long that I just don't put faces or journaling in the photo spots that go off the edge of the pages, but I leave them full-bleed. As far as I know, all three outside edges get trimmed about 1/8", I don't think they trim the inside edge but it does get shoved down into the gutter.

I was going to take a picture of a 27 series page in my book but I realized I don't have a Shutterfly book with that template in it. I would say that if your biggest desire is to retain the full-bleed, "off-the-page" result of some of those templates, leave them just as they are and make sure that the focal point of the photos are 1/4" from the edge of the page. The trim will take off a little of the outside edges, but it will leave the full-bleed effect. I think I would be more frustrated if I resized and then had paper that didn't go all the way to the edge. From a design standpoint, it sounds like the full bleed option is what you're looking for.

You could make the LO smaller by dragging just two corners.

This is a page I've done with that template and I left it full-size so that the photos would "fall off" the page. I didn't resize, I just left it, knowing that a little of the alligator would get trimmed, but that's okay, because her face is the focal point. And the butterfly is more than 1/4" in, so it won't get cut off, either.

HTH!

I agree - Lynn's SE #55 is one of my favorites. I also like #56.
