Default Which do you prefer?

For those of you who have ordered photobooks from Shutterfly, which do you prefer -- Hardcover or soft? My biggest concern is the quality of the binding. I have a coupon for a free 8x8 photobook, and it does not stipulate which type of cover. I appreciate any help you might have. Thank you!

I love the hard covers, but I shouldn't even be posting because I've not gotten a soft cover from SF yet. :O\

I've only ordered the hard cover.

Katie might be able to give you insight. I remember she had a soft cover one at the SA crop.

I've ordered the soft cover (7x9?) as a gift and it was good quality- that said- my personal preference is the hard covers.

i think the hard cover would be a better quality. i got the soft and although it is ok, the hardcover would have been much nicer.

All my 8 x 8 books from Shutterfly have hard covers. I prefer the hard cover for the layouts I create.

The only size I've ordered with a soft cover is the 7 x 9 size. Those have been little specialty books to showcase photos from one event or a group of photos with the same theme and I've used Shutterfly's templates and backgrounds for those. I like the quality and the price for ordering multiples for gift giving.

I am currently working on a 7 x 9 Christmas book to give each of my grandsons using Pattie Knox's Jolly Holly Layered Template set. I am going to order those with a soft cover and order one for myself, too. Most of the photos I'm using for this little booklet will also be used on pages for my December Daily album which will definitely be a hard cover.

I've gotten one 8x8 hard and one 8x8 soft. The hard cover was for my son's entire first year - great quality binding. The soft cover was for a much shorter vacation book I did for our out-of-town grandparents. I loved this for what it was - small and specialized. It was more like a children's book which I enjoyed for the purpose of my son reading through the memories.

I was leaning more toward the hard cover, and your posts have convinced me. Thank you so much for all your help!!

My 8 x 8s have been hard cover but I do have a 7 x 9 which is a soft cover and I love it just as much.
