Default I would love to have your suggestions...

for a Spain travel album.
Five years ago, we spent Christmas in southern Spain with our DD and SIL, who was stationed at the Rota Naval Air Station.
I made a paper album, but I'd like to redo it in digital and give the paper album to my daughter as a memento of the time they spent there.

If you've done albums from that part of the world, I'd love it if you could share products that worked for you.

Thanks!!!

I've been to Spain and Portugal and that trip is on my list of to-do's. I had AAspnes Traditons in mind as well as KPertiet's La Cremerie sets and Krafty Elegance. There is also a set of swirly Moorish looking metals..KPertiet's Metal Scrolls #2. Those are part of my mental supply list so far.

I would think if one (you or me!) did a search in the Gallery with Spain, there might be links to pages or albums. I don't have time right now but I want to follow this for future reference. So...thanks for asking!

Good suggestions, Maureen. Anna's Traditions looks perfect, and it's on sale right now. I also love the iron scrolls. My search in the gallery did not turn up a lot, but led to Gretchen Thomas's Cantina Paper pack. So I'm off to get those and see what else turns up. Thanks!

Well, I had to go and do a search this am...again, procrastinating on some other things....and found that only Hoentje had an album of Spain, which while lovely, is a beach vacation in Spain Vacation Spain/France 2009 - Digital Scrapbooking Ideas - DesignerDigitals

I think your trip would be more cities (?) like ours was in February. That lends itself to a more formal looking layout imho.

Linda (earlofoxford) did a wonderful European album this summer, but you would have to look through her gallery to see them all... here are two pages:

This is an interesting question - as I just started working on a trip to Spain album last week. My trip was 30+ years ago when my son was little and I want to make the album for him. I am planning on using Anna Aspnes 12x12 Fotoblendz Layered Template Album as the basic layout and modify the pages as needed. Although I plan to make it 8.5x11 landscape instead of 12x12.

I haven't decided on the papers yet, but want something bright and sunny as we were there in the summertime and most of my pictures are of olive trees, windmills, beaches etc. I have alot of Gretchen Thomas papers and will probably use some of them.

My photos are old and need to be scanned in and worked on, as they are not digital. I'm working on this part right now and it will take me a while. I plan to get all the photos ready first, so I can then enjoy the page creation process (I don't enjoy scanning and tweaking photos).

I did take alot of photos of moorish doorways, windows and other carved things - so I plan on using them as low opacity page backgrounds and blended photos and design additions.

I also plan on a lot of journaling about the historic details of the places we visited - Roman bridges, amphitheaters, Alhambra, old moorish castles, etc. This information I will get from the internet. I"m also including maps with the stages of our journey marked on them, as we flew into Madrid and then drove all over the southern half of Spain.

It's been fun reviewing all the places we visited, as it was so long ago and I have forgotten much of it.

I helped my niece make a traditional layout of her trip to Spain. We based it on the colors of the Spanish flag (red, yellow and black as I remember it) which worked beautifully for an overall feel.
