Default Mini CD

can anybody tell me how to use one of those miniature CDs that come with the MP3 players and I have to install? My MacBook Pro does not seem to want to swallow that little think, I really panicked trying to get it back out of the slot just a while ago Is there something like an adapter I need to get?

Anke, I haven't used those mini CDs, but I have noticed that thickness does seem to be a factor in whether my CDs play well in my iMac or not. I have a ton of picture CDs that I burned on my old PC which I put a paper label on. Though they played just fine in my PC with the label, not one of them will play in my iMac until I remove the paper label. HTH ...

Anke, I just found a thread which stated ""These disc are not recommend for slot loading (aka: Apple) CD/DVD drives as they will cause damage to your computer". This was seconded by a number of posters and apparently even a store posted a notice to that effect . Guess it's not a good idea ... Glad you got yours out!

There another post that hinted about an adapter, but the poster was not sure it would work at all with an Apple computer. Apparently, Apple had discussed patenting an adapter in the past but nothing came of it according to the forum. Sorry ...

Anke, is it a music CD? Or does it have an application on it, such as for your camera, that you need. The only ideas I can think of ...

(1) Does the CD have a website associated with it from which you can download the material? If they don't have a download, e-mail the company with your issue.

(2) Can you play it in a device that you can connect to your computer by USB or firewire, and use it as another "drive" to copy it from?

Mini CDs are not recommended for slot drives, but I have used them successfully in tray drives. Do you have a device with a tray drive that you can attach to your computer?

HTH!

Is it even Mac compatible? I am betting since it is the small Cd that it isn't. . .

Anke, you should be able to go to the company website and download the software or drivers. Try googling the name of the company and "mac installation" it should bring up something i'd imagine.

Anke, if all else fails, I think this is one I'd take to the Apple store or call Apple. I've had really good service from calls but I think I too recall reading that the small cds do not work. Hope for your sake I'm wrong.
