Default need help with get me off auto

i can't get it to print the odd-numbered pages. the .pdf only "sees" 28 pages, which are all 2-page spreads, in it's page list.

today i tried printing landscape, figuring both pages would print at half-size. now it prints both pages, but only the colored background and photos. no text.

has anyone else had this problem?

Hi Janice!

I've not run into that problem. I'm just getting in from anniversary celebration out with my hubby, let me play with it a bit and see what I can figure out for you.

Thanks for your patience,

Katrina

Thanks, Katrina. No rush, I know it's a tough time of year to have an extra problem handed to you.

I'm not sure if it's my pdf reader. I don't use adobe as it keeps crashing my system. I use Foxit. But I haven't had any other problems with it.

I was just about to ask if you were using Adobe Acrobat, Janice, when I saw your reply.

Here is a link for the free download of Acrobat Reader. It might solve your problem:

Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions

Thanks, Cassie. We have the whole-hog Acrobat - reader, writer, etc. I have used it a lot in the past when editing FDA submissions, and had no problems. But when we upgraded about 6 months ago to whatever the most recent version was, it crashes my computer. Also does the same to dh's computer. He thinks the upgrade did us in. He's a computer geek, so is trying to figure out the answer but having no luck yet.

It printed for me with no issues landscape at 2 pages per sheet. I don't think I have any sort of special Adobe and I didn't change any settings. It just printed that way automatically. Is it supposed to be portrait with one page per sheet?
It's fine for me the way it is.

I, too, printed the pages with no problem. I have the latest version of Adobe Reader and a Canon MP610 printer.

Beatricemi, I think it is supposed to print the pages in landscape, 2 pages per sheet.

I did not try to print the cover, however.

The 2 pages per sheet was not the issue for me, when it printed half of the writing on the left side of the page is cut off....and part of the top....

I got it!!! When you go to File->Print, then go to "Scaling" click on this drop down button and choose "Shrink to fit page" make sure the entire document is selected to print and then print!!! I just printed my book and it is perfect!!!

Ok, I tried what Tammy suggested. And it prints both pages, but only the colored background and pictures, no text.

finally figured out something that works.

if i select the right hand page of the spread using the "clipboard" tool and leave it selected, it prints the selection to the correct size.

i have to do it for each 2-page spread, but at least it works! and it prints both the images and the text. heaven only knows why it won't do it correctly. but at least i have a solution.

So glad you solved it Janice! It should be printing each two page spread on one landscape page.
