Did you save the left side pages the same way you did the right side before you uploaded them? Also, did you turn off Vivid pics for all of them (that is the one that always gets me, because I have noticed a color difference when you forget to turn it off.)
I hope that helps or someone else comes along with some better ideas! Good luck!

Thanks Lisa! I really appreciate your quick response!
I did save the left ones the very same way I saved the right. And I thought about Vivid pics and saw the thread about it......but I'm thinking if I didn't turn off Vivid pics for either side could they still be different? Also, I haven't had this problem with any of my previous shutterfly uploads?!! What's a girl to do?!!

Thanks again! Sure enough, I turned off vivid pics on each individual page and now I have uniform background color! Yea!
But in the process, I did something funky with the size of the pages. The whole page is not showing up--it's like I cropped my square page to be rectangular! I'll see if I can figure it out! Just love it here at DD--everyone is so willing and so helpful!

I have found that sometimes when you go to edit and turn off vividpics it makes a crop. There is a bar in the same place as vivid pics to restore to your original and before I turn off vivid pics I always click that first. Sometimes a couple times to make sure and then everything is fine.

If you turn off vivid pics when you are in your album ( where you upload to ) and then put them into your book, it crops it. If you put the pages in the book first then click on the page and edit, then turn off vivid pics there, it doesn't seem to do that. Thats my experience anyway.

I have found that when I turn off Vivid pics in the album the first one looks cropped but when I add them to the album it isnt cropped-I have also found that sometime the pages are cropped and if I double click on it, I can move the "crop" back to the edges and then the crop is gone. I love Shutterfly books, but sometimes there seem to be a few quirks to work around and it seems like I am always putting it together for a sale and in a rush!

it can be really frustrating at times, I make enough little mistakes on my own and then I have to be so super careful while going over every page and sometimes the pages are cropped.... I wish it could be a little easier
They do make fabulous books though, so it's all worth it

I didn't know about the crops. And even though I knew about vivid pics, I still go caught! Great tips here.
But I just wanted to add that the book design you've described sounds fabulous, Marnie!! I bet your friend's father is blown away!!
