Default Can't let go...

So I was organizing my home office/junk room yesterday and I have parted with all my paper scrappables minus a few items for Ava to play with except my beloved Basic Grey stash. I love these papers and the paper product to finish product ratio is a down right shame, because when I go to scrap something, I hate to cut them. I was staring at them last night thinking, I can't re-cut these, I can't blend them, I can't resize them or recolor them...I flat out laughed at the sight of a plain white rub on! And I love digi so much, I'm just plain not going to use them. There I said it. I AM NOT GOING TO USE THESE PAPERS! So why did I find myself putting pages and then kits in a keep pile as I was listing them out to put them on eBay? Do I not realize how much digi supplies I can buy with the potential money I would earn on selling them? Why keep something I've stored for two years already? Why can't I let go?

Can we please start a support group for people trying to let go of paper product or similar issues? LOL OR, what I really need is for you guys to help me part with the stuff. Would it be a suitable comprimise to keep just one ultimate favorite kit?

I totally understand. I say you should keep them, use them to make backgrounds on a chipboard album, then print some photos w/journaling or titles on the photos themselves and slap 'em on those gorgeous backgrounds. It would be a great thing on a coffee table.

Hi! I started paper and digi scrapping at the same time. I also do other paper crafts, so I keep my paper stash. Why don't you frame them or mount them on something and use them as art in your scrap space?

LOL, I could probably wall paper my house with the amount I have. I really want to keep them for hybrid projects but know deep down I will not ever use it. I think I'm going to keep one awesome kit and do what Cassie suggested or something similar. One last paper hurrawww!

I always felt that way about Basic Grey, too. I would save up money, buy a few sheets, and then I would never want to cut them and use them. My daughter has long since raided my paper stash (I only had about 30 sheets of paper left) and has used them for her own "crafts."

I haven't been able to part with any of my stash yet! I do have some of it in a pile to give away but I need to take that last step!

I still paper scrap too. I love the feeling of actually handling the paper. DH keeps saying I've gone to mainly digi. I haven't been able to get to my craft area for about 6 months for other things in it. And most will go into boxes early next year as we prepare our home for sale. We'll see how I feel after moving. I have a feeling the kids will be getting a lot more of the material.

I still buy BG! I love the paper and still use it, though not on scrapbooking. I still make cards and other projects. I almost forgot, I even just like to take it out and look at it - that's important for the soul!

I love these kind of threads because then I realize how much alike we scrappers/card makers and crafters can be.

It took years to do, but, I've parted with fabrics for quilt making, yarn for knitting and paints for wooden ornament making and the Dremel jigsaw I used for cutting out the shapes......all because I've embraced digital scrabbooking!

(I've kept rubber stamps and BG papers for hybrid projects I still intend to get back to some day.)
