Default my thoughts on going digital:)

it has been aprox. one month since i did my first page.
here is what my scattered thoughts are about it. i'll bullet point so i don't forget anything.
*i have been trying to declutter for a while now. going digital has been a BLESSING
*all i know how to do right now is use templates, the move and text tools, use brushes a little bit, and the command g and z i think that is all i will ever need....but i want to learn more
* i am a horrible speller and my grammar is the WORST! i have to go thru my journaling a bunch of times before i flatten the layers.
* i appreciate all the freebies posted on the net. and i use them all because i am on a strict budget. THANK YOU FOR THE FREEBIES.
*i am scrapping 8x8. things will be more compact. and i am all about it.
*i love that i can hang out with my family and am scrap at the same time.
in conclusion.... I LOVE digital. did i mention i LOVE DIGITAL?

Awesome thoughts! So glad you like digital.

A little tip on spelling...I type my journaling first in Microsoft Word to make sure I don't have errors, then copy and paste onto my layout in Photoshop.

Hang in there and you will learn lots more!

Love that tip for typing journaling Amy. That will save me reprints!

It's hard not to get hooked on digital. It's that dang undo button. Sure beats glue.

Yes to everything on your list! Except if you've got heaps of storage space you can always keep your layered files as well as your flattened images.

And I have to say that I think digital scrapbooking may be the greatest thing I've stumbled upon in the craft world. I love that even if I get a whole page done, come back in a few hours, and notice the silliest little thing bothering me, I can just switch it out, or move it, etc. That is the best feeling for me.

I'm so glad your liking digital! The Word trick works for me (most of the time). I've missed plenty of spelling errors....but someone usually lets me know (which I greatly appreciate). Another reason I dig digital is because you can reuse supplies and recolor them if needed!!!

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes-except I love templates and photo clusters even though I can scrap without them-and although I am on a budget-I don't seem to stay the path very well when I see all the new all the time, all the sales, and all the eye candy in the gallery!!!
So glad you joined the digi world and you are fortunate to have made this home so early! It took me a bit of wandering and this is imho the very best!

It's a treat to hear your enthusiasm, arimacias! The neat thing is we all tend to go right on being enthusiastic about our digital hobby. It's been four years since I started and I continue to be excited....it's the last thing I do at night and the first thing I want to start again in the morning.

I never paper scrapped, but I totally agree with your list!!

One thing: In Photoshop there is a Spelling Check, under Edit I think - I use this all the time! (Well, most of the time....)

Yes, I've sold everything in my paper stash, other than my Basic Grey, I just couldn't part with it. But as I stared at it last night, for the life of me I couldn't imagine what I'd ever do with it not being able to re-cut it or recolor it or blend it or or or...so onto eBay it goes...I've been 100% digital for a while, but now it is official!

I tried doing a few paper pages but was so frustrated that I couldn't change things that digital has become the only way. Stay right here, ask questions and you will learn so much. Welcome to the addiction.

How exciting!! I started digi scrapping this year too after 7 years of paper scrapping. I was instantly hooked (and this is from someone who never thought I'd digi scrap).

You're saving your PSD's before you flatten, right? Then it's easy to go back and change anything whenever you want.

Welcome to the addiction! Er, uh, hobby.

Agree with everything that's been said. One of the best things ever about digital scrapbooking--being able to change a layout without having to use dental floss to work the photos and elements off the pages. If you've ever paper scrapped, you might know what I mean.

I never paper scrapped either but agree that it's got to be a time saver, space saver, and possibly a cost savings. You can use the same materials over and over and there is the undo button and I'm sure all that camera equipment I purchased this year, I would have purchased anyway..hehehehe. Now we just need more time in the day!

If I were you amrimacias, I would rethink deleting my psd files. Maybe at some point in the future you want to create a page very similar with different pictures, you could use the PSD file as your template.

That is so *me* I couldn't look at a sticker or piece of paper without wanting to change the color or flip or rotate.

My tip for beginners- get organized before you have too much "stuff"
I seriously cannot scrap without ACDSee Photo Manager- it is the only way I can keep track of all of my kits, photos, fonts, brushes, actions, favorite designers... and... and....

I agree that keeping your psd files is a good idea-I have "lost" a couple of my flattened files and only have the web saved size and would love to go back-but that was back in the day I thought I didnt need my psd files!
