lots of reasons, but mostly because it was just a natural progression for me, I was already using PSE for photos and journaling, it really was just the next step. I also love the convenience, speed, time, and of course the versatility of all the fabulous digital elements...being able to use one product over and over again but making it different each and every time : )

I started because with I hadn't paper scrapped since I had my daughter (now 4) and am way behind. But I didn't want to have to unpack/pack all my paper supplies. This way no tempting paper, stickers, pens, etc. sitting out for little hands. Now I just have all my old paper supplies for school projects and crafting.

I started digi because I was SUPER bad at paper - there's no undo button! I also like that I can use my products over and over & there is no clean up! I also love and cherish the friends and relationships that I have made on digi sites!

Because my husband wanted our table back. And ditto to Joey's comment. Can't live without the undo button.

so many reasons. I hated the product pressure to buy before its gone, Love the flexability of photo sizing instantly and of course the undo! Love the less waste and the fact that you buy it once and can use it a million times. It is way cheaper than paper scrapping, i could go on and on...

I love to edit my photos in photoshop and found a lot of cool stuff here.... I loved shopping real paper and decorations, but it is so much more fun to shop for digi stuff when you get them right away.... And like you say ... I can use the things over and over again .

The main reason I started was because with our youngest child I cannot leave unfinished projects laying around and this way if I need to stop I just save as and can come back to it without things being messed up, missing, or moved.

I found that I love being able to reuse that 1 paper that I just love over and over without running out at 8pm after the stores are closed.

I started about 3 years ago after seeing a bunch of amazing digi layouts posted at another site. They all listed DD in their credits and once I came here to see the products, that was all it took.

I actually didn't know about digi and was going to start paper scrapping right after we adopted our daughter because I wanted to tell the story behind the photos. I bought some stuff, headed to the computer to do journaling and look for ideas and stumbled on digi. I never did complete a paper layout...LOL!

In my paper scrapping I was doing more with my journaling entries as far as adding images and word art to it. I saw the some of the amazing things being done by people like Steph. I was on vacation with a laptop and decided to play around with some products. I liked how it worked with my graphic style and just got totally immersed into it.

I was never a paper scrapper (one very bad attempt scarred me). I was given Photoshop Elements for my birthday for photo editing, because I was taking a ton of pictures (Project 365 in 2007), and I stumbled into digiscrapping as a way to use all those photos.

Here is one you may not of heard yet. My son (17) and my daughter (15) at the time could both use PSE like pros, my son was taking graphic design in High School and after seeing what they could do... I just had to try it. Of course I made them teach me the basics and then read everything I could about it for scrapping purposes. I eventually plan to turn all the pages into a book for each of them. It has been a truly wonderful experience and we have learned and done soooo much.

I was a infrequent paper scrapper, but after my DS was born, it was just too hard to get everything out, so I came over to the dark side and found I loved it.

I was really bad at stamping, and wanted to use Photoshop Elements to add flourishes to my photos. I never thought I would digiscrap, but I just loved learning things in Photoshop and one thing just led to another.

Occasionally I will pull out my paper stuff for a quick project. But I really hate dragging stuff out and putting it all away. Plus I always set something down somewhere and can't remember where I put it. I don't lose much stuff on my computer !

I loved to paper scrap (had always used computer for journaling and title work) - but it was really only a holiday activity because we have a very small house and getting everything out was too hard in term time. But I also started to see all sorts of interesting ideas and effects in scrapping mags that were nigh on impossible to reproduce in paper. Did some tutorials with another digi site but when I found DD, I just fell in love with Katie's vintage and botanical papers/kits and the rest, as they say, is history!

Because it used to take me days to be happy with a page. And I'd often wreck it in the process. Like Mary, I used to plan the LO, do the journaling and print the photos from photoshop (I've used photoshop for other things for 15 years). Looking back I don't know why I ever started with paper!!

thought i would copy and past here

i never ever thought i would ever EVER go digital. in my head it was so....well, digital.
All i ever scrapped with was paper. Only 4x6 prints, not even editing my pictures more than the occasional touch up. i pretty much was scared of digi-scrapping. seriously!
and the economy went to the crapper.
suddenly, here i was, with all the trappings of a paper junkie. i had more stuff than i could ever use.
i started to condense, little by little.
purging the things that were out of date or not my style anymore.
i used up a LOT of stuff and stopped buying all together. cold turkey. that's the way to do it with serious addicts
at one point a few months ago our economic situation got REALLY bad. so bad that were were really worried about covering the necessities. the dh got laid off and it was BAD. adhesive was LOW on the priorities list. and 4x6 prints?...NOPE!
so i took the jump. and i made my first digital page.
i got it print at costco and i thought this is not so bad. it looks ok.
so i started learning. looking at tutorials, taking notes.
i found templates and free supplies and places were people were very helpful (designer digitals).
i hit my head against the computer more times than i can count to learn the very basics. and i mean very basics.
Somewhere along the line i found out that i LIKED the process. i dig learning something new.
so that is where i am now.
and it is fun. and educational. and awesome.
my pages may never be the works of art that i often see on the different websites (a graphic designer i will never be), but they will be fun and whimsical and with tons of pictures. just like my paper pages.
COOL BEANS.

let me just add that i LOVE it here at DD and am anxiously waiting for the days of december...i had my shopping cart full on thursday and i forgot to check out like the ding-dong that i am, so i missed out on sale prices.

it might seem crazy, but the DH and i were actually planning on getting a bigger house. i have 1/3 of the basement as a scrap space (cut down from a whole ROOM). space has been an issue for a LONG time and i am SO excited to have my pages take up less room. plus i really needed something new to learn. i guess the DD team must know that the next thing on my list of learning stuff is how to do brushes, cause there's a tip on the blog today

if you read this far thanxs!!!!!

Space... Space... Space.....we have a really small house and the thought of hauling all my paper stuff out was enough to not make me pull it out..EVER. Now, I have a corner of the dining room table and thats all I need. My son hooked up the printer to print wirelessly so I can print a draft to edit......for some reason I have to hold it in my hand to EVER see my mistakes!! LOL.

We all have such great stories-I'll add mine-
I started paper scrapping after my mom and my sister passed and in about a year, I made nearly 500 pages. At that point the site I was at started talking about digi and I just knew that I would never be able to do it-SO of course I had to learn how-and now I think I have probably made as many digi pages as paper pages-and they take up so much less room!!!

I had been a paper scrapper for years! started getting published and was completely consumed! All the while I was working as a freelance graphic designer from home. Well, scrapping started getting in the way of my clients work so I had the bright idea to take over the guestroom as my scrapping room and moved all my paper products upstairs away from my home office space so I could better focus on my work... within days I started fiddling with digital... 5 years ago this month... and was designing product 2 months later and opened DesignerDigitals just 5 months after turning digital... dropped my freelance clients and haven't looked back... haven't paper scrapped since either...

I had a little cubby hole in the spare bedroom where I paper scrapped. I was just a beginner at paper scrapping (6 months) and thought with me scrapping in the spare room and hubby in the family room watching TV--we never spent time together. Time together became very important to me because his cancer came back in his bones and now our time together is limited and I wanted to make the most of it. So, I thought if I learned digi, I could get a laptop--I could scrap in the family room while he watched TV. Sort of kill two birds with one stone so to speak. He was doing what he liked, I was doing what I liked and we were together. Haven't looked back.

I paper scrapped for years... saw a program on late night tv showcasing software. I bought it thinking I would use it for gifts and pages I need to do quickly. I thought the program was pretty limited and did a google search... found DD, bought Adobe PS and the rest is HISTORY! I could never go back to paper because I just couldn't get it to do what I wanted it to do after Photoshop. It is great for a mom like me that doesn't have time to drag out a bunch of supplies never mind try to clean up afterwards!! What is better than scrapbooking at Starbucks, the airport or in bed =)

I paper scrapped for many years, but after we bought a digital camera I started getting frustrated by having to print out the pictures before I could scrap them. There I sat in front of my computer editing pictures thinking there must be some way to do this on my computer instead of with paper (the mess of paper scrapping was also starting to really bother me). So I started surfing the web and found DD. Now, I must also say that I am a computer junkie. If it can be done on the computer, I want to do it on the computer. I have been a computer programmer for about 15 years, but I had never thought before this time (3 years ago now) of doing my scrapbooks on the computer. So, add a computer junkie with a new digital camera with a wonderful website (DD) and that is how I started. I've been hooked since and have never gone back to paper.

I am a long time paper scrapper with a huge stash of supplies. I've used PSE for years to tweak my photos, but just printed them out. I'm just starting, but what pushed me over the edge was seeing that many of the layouts I liked from the magazines were digital. I especially liked the "messy edged, splattered, blending into the background" photo look that you just can't do with paper. I also liked the freedom to resize photos without having them reprinted.
