Default Help me with a mystery, please

I simply cannot get one of my layouts down to posting size. I've set the dpi to 72 and I'm saving as a jpeg, but no matter what I do to the quality slider of the jpeg save dialog box, my layout stays at 2.1 mb, which of course is way too large for posting here at DD. I've never had the experience of not being able to shrink the size to something manageable. I tried cropping the image all around in case there were pieces of paper sticking out that were adding to the size, and I've tried deleting all the layers that weren't visible. But something about this file is huge and won't be tamed. Any ideas?

I have had this problem. When you go to set the dpi to 72, make sure that your page size is in inches. Sometimes, my page size is in cm and the conversion doesn't work.

Good suggestion, but it doesn't seem to help me. It's a puzzle all right!

I never save like that. I always go to save for web or devices, enter 500 - 700 pixels as a value and then hit enter. Save it like that, see what happens...

I always change to 72 dpi and then 700x700 and that seems to work!
