Default What are you making for Christmas gifts this year?

I love doing homemade gifts, and have done a variety of things over the years... paintcans filled with goodies, other baked goods, etc... all with a digital touch as well.. the label, card, wine labels, etc...

Always looking for new and fun ideas... I like to do something for my neighbors, friends, albeit small... just something.

Anyone got some fun plans or ideas?

I am making a journal for my daughter & having it printed at shutterfly. I am almost done with it, and will post the final book to my gallery. The front cover is up in my gallery for now.

I look forward to hearing everybody's ideas!

Can't wait to hear all the ideas everyone has!

I created a 7x9 mini book for the great-grandparents using Michelle Martin's template set:

There is a link to my shutterfly book & Patricia's book using this template set in the store. I should receive the books in the mail this week. I am so excited!

i've made a number of treat boxes (that will each have 3 ghirardelli chocolates in them) for teachers; some milk-carton style treat boxes and stamped marble tile coasters for homeroom teachers; and some mini-notebooks for teachers and quilting friends.

I made picture tumblers using one of Katie's templates and I'm making calendars using one of her templates too.

I made a photobook for my husband using one of Katies book templates and I only have a few more finishing touches to add! (Yippee).
For the grandparents I am making a book using photos taken over the course of the year and my Bind it All. I just don't have the time to make a proper photobook this year and I really love the Bind it all.

Well I am copying BritGirl's Life Lessons Book and making them for my cousins who range in age from 13-19. One is leaving for the Navy in Feb.

I am making my niece a book for her 0-5 years.

Then my parents and the husband parents are getting books of wedding photos and I just learned how to create DVDs because I had to make my husband a highlight film so I am thinking most everyone else will get DVDs of the wedding, reception and photos. Especially those family members that weren't able to make it.

I made each of my boys a photo album of our vacation in South Carolina for Christmas and each of them a book of their vacation in Las Vegas for their birthdays-I was lucky to have them, one on Dec 19 and the other on Dec 21!

Iam trying to do some shutterfly calendars for family, but i'll need to get a move on or they may not arrive in time (postage to Australia at this time of the year!) I also might do some slabs of nut brittle i found in a magazine this week. You wrap in cellophane tie a ribbon around and then attach a little craft hammer to the front. Looks very cute. I have lots of people that are very hard to buy for!

oh how cool is that?! Thank you for the flattery of such a scraplift!
I've made my 'all about us' interview book which the my hubby and kids will get to unwrap christmas day. I've also made family calendars this year for my MIL to give out,.... they involved searching for photos of all family and making sure each brother and his family were evenly represented through out - Never again!!!! LOL- then adding family birthdays for everyone too.
I've got some old fashioned keys that I have designed a vintage looking labels for. The labels read 'live' love' & 'laugh' I think I'll give them to my sister and/or best friend. I'd quite like them myself LOL
I'm making the girls some big posters maybe 'abc' 'family tree' 'months of the year' kind of thing or something along those lines. and some card game... not sure what yet.
I often make 'your face on this' kind of christmas cards for my kids and hubby. totally running out of ideas now, but these seem the thing they are talking about already...eeeeek!!!!!.
I've had some photos and some photos with quotes printed onto large canvases for special gifts too.
and I make the gift tags for everything too.
and the cards.
and I wonder why I'm shattered?????

LOL

How come we always get our great ideas too late. Next year I'm starting in January! LOL

This year my best friend is on the receiving end of the "Memories of Us" secret book I made through Shutterfly. I can't wait for her to receive it. Through Snapfish in Australia, I have ordered a mug which I printed a nickname of my husband's on it and had his face poking out the O (basically I just created the jpg which I uploaded). Plus Vistaprint this year have been on the receiving end of some Christmas cards I've made.

Looks like I'm spreading my dollars around!

Apart from that there's knitted socks going out, plus my mum is getting a knitted silk shawl I've almost finished. Oh and three sewn Christmas sockings for a friend. Heck I've made more than I thought I had.

Im packaging up some home made "beer bread" mix into mason jars and making some digi labels for them. Im going to try and find a few other foodie gifts and put them into a basket for some friends. Photos and such for family, REALLY need to get a move on the calendar I have promised everyone. Thank God for the amazing calendar templates

I would get kicked out of my family if I didn't make everyone calendars. It's been a tradition now for at least 8 years... since way back in the olden days when I scrapbooked with paper.

I'm also making a mini album for a friend and cd coasters for my brother.

i found the tumblers at the dollar store and I'm just going to laminate the finished templates from katie before I put them in the cup since others have experienced leakage. I'm also going to print out some mini pages and either put them in sara binders or paper bag albums to try to finish off my "hard" supplies...I'm fully committed to DD and digi scrapping.

I've also made wreaths and ornaments in the past and I might revisit that!

One thing that I've done before that hasn't been mentioned...puzzles. My father-in-law loves puzzles so every year, I create an image and have it made into a puzzle. I love hearing what everybody is doing!

I have a recipe book for my eldest and a photo book for my middle daughter - I've posted bits of them here. I've done a CD calendar for my sister. I hope to do a full sized calendar for my other sister. I'm printing everything at home except the photo book. I don't have anything else crafty planned.

I am thinking about some Shutterfly notebooks and maybe note cards made from some of my nature photos. I better get on the stick!

So many cool ideas! I'm using Katie's Starbucks Tumbler template and plan to clip photos to it for the Grandma's. I have my own (which I'm doing a scrapbook page about currently) and the moment my mom saw it, she's been hinting here & there ever since! Also, Lana is giving both sets of grandparents a 2010 calendar of photos of her & her cousins.

I also make all my friends a goody bag of Chocolate Skor Pretzels (pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate with skor bits), White Chocolate with crushed candy cane (mine is thinner than what I've found in stores) and Chocolate Santa popcicle sticks. I didn't make them last year and I had several complaints from my friends....LOL

So many great ideas. I need to sit down and get planning. I did see that Simplyscrapping is now binding calendars, and I got an e-mail about a great deal. I'll have to check it out.

I always do calendars, and bound them myself. too bad I was already half started.
