You can flatten the PSD into a JPG, and then duplicate the whole LO and change the blending mode to screen, then fiddle with the opacity until it looks good. Hope that makes sense!

PSE7 (which I used to create the layouts) and also have an old copy of PS 6.0
The pages look fine on my computer screen but print just a little bit too dark for my taste.

Thanks Sarah, I have been fiddling around with the process you described and it seems to be doing what I wanted. Just need to print out a few to compare.

I hope you can get it the way you like it---the only danger with adding the screen layer is that sometimes your light colors can get overblown. But you'll find something that works, I'm sure!

Are you calibrating your monitor? I find that's the best way to make sure what you see on the screen matches what you print. Also make sure that you have not checked "printer manages colors" option in your printer software. For calibrating, I use the Spyder and Eye-One software.
