Default Getting Ready for the Q4 sale (I have a problem)

Okay..yes...I officially have a problem! Today I went through all 6,570 products that they have in the store to add the ones I want to my "wishlist" in preparation for the Q4 sale!

I always knew that I had a "font" collection problem, (Okay, all of you with that problem..raise your hand. Admit it, you look at advertisements and billboards and you know what font they used!) and yes, I knew that having over 4,000 kits was a little over the top..

BUT TODAY I officially acknowledge that I need to go to "SA" ...Scrapbookers Anonymous. "Hello, my name is Dawnee and I am an addict."

I also noticed that my scrapbooking collecting has evolved. When I first started scrapbooking I collected every freebie out there, until I realized that quality is so much better than quantity. Then I went through the "kit" phase. I was a ct for several people and collected huge amounts of kits. (At that time, I was in the "Everything has to match" phase.) Have you now noticed, that there are several phases in the evolution of a scrapbook addict? Now I am in the "eclectic phase". I buy more paperpacks and random elements that I mush together. (Wait!! idea! I can do a page on scrapbook collection phases! Wow..see how the ideas just pour into my scrapbooking brain! I am a genius!)

So now that I have admitted that I have a problem, will it cease to exist? NOPE..I just need to get a part-time job to support my habit! Spoken proudly, like a true addict!....

I was hoping the "you've already bought it" function might be ready by this sale. I have found myself putting things in the shopping cart, then checking, and finding that I already have them. I'm actually moving the other way---I never bought kits, just tried to cobble things together, but am finding that kits are usually the way I wish I could go, for quickness and ease of matching.

I would love to go through the store and add to my wishlist. I think I'll do that tonight.

Wait. You went through ALL of the products in the store? Oh my! How long did that take?!
I think I'd go temporarily blind!
But what fun

How fun! On my have to have list (I've got a budget to stick to, darn!) are Katie's new Days of December Layered Template Set No. 2 and Anna's Complete Stitched Alpha Collection No. 1
I don't dare go through the whole store, I'd see too many things to add to my 'have to have' list

Yup, it took me about a day, but I got my cart whittled down (I have a budget too that I'm exceeding) and I can't wait to push the button! Is it time yet??????

Sorry, that feature will hopefully be with the new shopping cart set to go live next summer.

Oh, Dawnee, I laughed out loud at your post. It could have been me! And the quarterly sale just adds to the giddiness, doesn't it? (Looking forward to your scrapping phases layout!)

Dawnee You made me LOL... love your sense of humor.. but I am starting to hyper-ventilate wondering if I'll be organized for this big sale... I found myself wandering thru the store putting things on my wish list until I realized that since I'm very new at this I had no idea what some of them did :-( so I think I'll stick with the basics for now.. but that means several more reviews of my list and the store.. Thanks for the laugh can't wait to see that layout. DonnaNJ

Dawnee I am just rolling on the floor! You went through the whole store!! Amazing.

I haven't started to think about the sale yet. Been way to busy at work this week.

I am bummed I won't be able to make most of the chats because of a baby shower that I must attend and an out of town wedding.

Guess I better start looking at the wishlist.

Oh, Randy, thanks, I meant that with a big grin---not as if "I can't believe it's not ready yet." I was picking at my own forgetfulness! And this time last year I said, "I'll NEVER have so many supplies that I'll forget what I already have." Uh-huh. Like we all say, "My kid will NEVER . . ." Can't wait for the sale!

Dawnee, I enjoyed reading your message about your addiction and the phases you've been through.

My dh asked me the other night if there was anyone else I knew of who spends as much time on the computer scrapping as I do? I just laughed! I should have him read this thread!

I have to say, I love this sale! I, too, am on a budget-for real! Darn it, but hmmm, I think I can still get some new goodies-and that is WHAT it is all about!

Well, I hate to be a smarty pants (again) but I have to warn you that there are some amazing things coming to the store which are new for this sale. I think you should put aside some of your $ for as yet unseen yummies. Just saying.

That is so funny Dawnee! we're all addicted here but you are the Queen!

Well I tried to teach children and grandchildren they can't have everything, and so I must practice what I preach.

Mind you, I did make a set of my own Christmas templates inspired by an ad I saw, so since that saved me $20, it means I can at least spend that much in the store, then whatever I get will feel like a freebie to me! I'm also going to see what else I can make for myself, so I can purchase more stuff!

Yes, I did actually go through every page of the "supplies" list. Whew! and the things I found made my heart go pitter patter! I was twitterpated! Usually when I get something from the store, it is something I saw on someones layout, or it is a specific item I am looking for (i.e., vintage frame, yellow paper, etc.). Now I have found tons of stuff to add to my wishlist that I never knew existed!~ (why oh why did I decide to look through the whole store???) Its going to take me way more than 12 quarterly sales to buy them. LMAO! Now...off to decide what's in this weeks budget!

You are not alone. Hearing your story made me giggle as I too can relate (quality vs. quantity). I've never gone through the whole store but I go through all of Katie's stuff every time there's a sell. I'm hopeless with the wishlist.

I suspicioned that the new goodies would be oh so enticing-that is the way it was last quarterly sale!

My husband has the yellow pages out, he thinks I have finally lost my mind giggling at the laptop, he says that has to be a support group out there. I say, you can fix someone who doesn't think she is broken! ;-)

Seriously - I am so glad I found DD. It is my support group!!!

And I can't believe you got through the entire store. . . I tried that once and was blurry eyed by page 29. I do go through all of the sale items on Thrifty Thursday so I don't miss anything.

LOL Dawnee - you are funny!

I checked out how much my wishlist would amount to - hoping my recent generous giftcard would cover it.... LOL!! Oh yeah - right! I am afraid my eyes are way too big - my wishlist before 30% amounts to over $300. But FUN it will be to choose and download this weekend!

Addictive? Yes, but, I would argue that we all share a productive (rather than a destructive) addiction! Just think we're passing on a legacy of memories, knowledge, and roots--that's a good thing!

PS I have a budget too, but I'll enjoy every cent of it!

So it's one o'clock in the morning and guess what I'm doing...finishing this darn Alaska book! Had to stop by and see what was going on, and Dawnee you made me giggle! I've gone through all the templates several times, but everything in the store...I can't wait to buy something that is not related to travel!

I think we are all addicts and proud of it! In the past I have gone through the whole store...can't remember how long it took..but my "collection" is pretty huge now and I think I have it down where I rarely "rebuy" something..now just go through the stuff..can't wait..new on Thursday and Sat...what is a budget anyway?! This addiction is why I can't retire! I'm right there with you Dawneephay!
