Default ACDSee on Mac

Hi!

I just bought a MacBook Pro, and love, love, love it! However, I´ve been using ACDSee to organize all my digi supplies. I found out about a beta for mac os x, but I´ve not been successful installing it (on Snow Leopard). So I just wanted to know if anybody has installed it successfully on Snow Leopard? Or, I should say: I´m able to install, but when I try to start it up, it freezes, and I have to force quit it.

Thanks,
Heidi.

I´ll reply myself. Browsed through acdsee forums, and found out that this has been an issue with acdsee. Now there´s a fix available (released nov 2), and it´s working for me on Snow Leopard. Horray! :-) Sorry for posting about "nothing".

I think the problem with the beta version is though that your tags will not be transferable once the program comes out, so don't waste too much time tagging

Finally back in operation!! Love this but one warning. So far each new update will wipe out your categories, keywords or other sorting methods. They really aren't giving you a free program for all this time!! They change it all the time in response to feedback and their own tweaks. So when ever you do start to use it you will probably be locked in to the features of that version until they ultimately release a version which will read past library data. (I have been on their private beta testing team since day one and lost my coding - TWICE). Ultimately it will be worth it.

I wasn't able to install mine on Leopard, but haven't tried since installing Snow Leopard, I decided not to bother since I'm learning a zillion other things right now.

Thanks for the information! As far as I can see, I'm not able to tag at all, so I think this is a "downgrade" to make it work on SL(?) Anyway, I think as a beta tester, you get a discount when they release it, so it might be worth testing a little. :-)

Adobe was great about converting to Mac, by the way... I contacted customer support, and they are sending me a new Photoshop CS4 for Mac to replace my Windows copy. All I had to do was delete it from my computer and promise not to use it or sell it. And pay shipping for my new box, which was about $10. That is amazing customer service! :-)

wow, I would like to know who you spoke to as it took me over a month to get my program converted! Back and forth, back and forth, I exhausted my trial version of CS4 before I finally got my new program. Their customer service was absolutely horrible for me. Guess you got lucky
