Default Linking to Member Galleries

I was just wondering if it would be possible to have a link to galleries within the forum member profile. Sometimes I come across someone in a forum thread, and I would like to see their work. A direct link from their profile page would make things much simpler.

Just a thought

That would be so cool!! Like you, I just did the next best thing and put a link in my signature. If everyone did this it would also be a good thing!

Thena, I tried to type in the instructions but everything changed to hyperlinks when I previewed it so I'll send you a Private Message!
I see you have some real cool looking Pop Art and fantasy type layouts in your gallery. I'll be back after supper to look at them closer!
Chris

I had to send an email because the PM also turned my instructions to a link. I need to learn how to turn the link feature off for these cases.
the following is how your link will be:
Thena's DD Gallery

OK... I need to do this, too! I just tried on my own and I'm completely clueless! Help, pretty please?

Debi, try this to get a link in your signature.

Get your link URL from your gallery and copy exactly as it is in the address bar. This is your link:
Beehive's DD Gallery

I usually copy and paste it into a notepad.

Look above and you will see on the left side "User CP". Click this on and on the left side click on "Edit Signature"

In the signature box you would add this code (remove the spaces I left in):

[ url = insert link URL here ] Title of Link [ / url ]

There should be NO spaces in the final code. To test it all you have to do is click on the preview and click your title. You have a great gallery Debi!

WOW... thanks Chris! Adding the my gallery to my signature worked for me too. You are brilliant to know how to do this.

I tried to add a signature photograph, but it failed ... will try again ... any suggestions on how to make it work? I saved the small photo at 63 K as a jpg for the web file.

edit: thanks to Merrilee a wonderful Designer Digital expert who sent me an email, I got the photo thing to work. I didn't know that the photo was the avitar ... so I was going about entering it all the wrong way. It is no wonder that this site is so popular ... the members are so helpful and SMART to boot!

I wish I could take all the credit, but my instructions to Thena seemed pretty complicated, so I went over to DST and copied and modified Shannon's instructions!!

Yea! I'm glad you're all adding the link! Somehow I missed the development of this thread, so I didn't reply sooner. Thanks, Chris, for showing everyone the ropes!

Thank you, for explaining this linking thing. This is great, and I finally managed to make it! Thanx!
Can I have another question? How do you use that DD Ad in the signature (I mean what is changing continuously)? That is soooo cool, is there any way for me to make it?

If you want the blinkie someone has already used, just ask and I'm sure they'll share. Of course, you can make your own and be as creative as you like.

I would love to give you the step by step instructions for making a "blinkie," but this is easier

This is for Photoshop
http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com...inkie_as.shtml

This is for Photoshop Elements
http://www.clikchicdesigns.com/modul...warticle&id=10

I save my image on www.photobucket.com (it's free) and then you can add it to your signature. They give you all the link information on the site.

(I also save my avatar photo on PhotoBucket and link to that URL to add it to my signature).

I don't know the rules about posting links to other sites, so if this is a big faux pas, please forgive me. Let me know and I'll take this down right away! I wouldn't do ANYTHING to upset Katie or this wonderful community!

Thumbs up for Gigi

There's a thread in the forum called new DD blinkie by Sarahbcmc. That's how I got the changing blinkie I use in my signature.

Of course, Cassie's directions to make your own are here, too. Thanks, Cassie.

Ah, Cassie! Thank you so much! I will surely try to make my own blinkies in the future! But as Merrilee mentioned that other thread, I inserted the cool DD Blinkie just right at that moment! Thank you Cassie, thank you Merrilee! Just look at my new sig!

We just set up our new iMac, and coming from Windows I don't know how to right click lol, - the mouse just isn't the same! The spice of life is learning new things so I'll figure it out sooner or later!

Just hold down the "control" key while you click. It's the same as a "right click " on a PC. You could also buy a Mighty Mouse and it will give you a right click button You're going to LOVE the iMac!

Have fun!

Thanks Cassie I got the control "click" thing working, I also have the "mighty mouse" but have to configure it to stop doing strange things!!

Lot's of learning going on here because I also upgraded to Photoshop PS and we have a new printer-scanner, plus hi-speed Internet! It feels like we just entered Future Zone!!

It's nice to know other Macs are around for when I get into trouble
