Question Does anyone make digital Christmas Cards?

This year I'm interested in creating my cards using my stash of digital brushes and stamps etc. I have often seen the photo Christmas Cards used, which I don't do, because our Christmases are so hot, it doesn't quite work well with all the lovely winter Christmas digi stuff that's around, so I'd like to do a digital card, but without a photo.

Does anyone make digital Christmas cards? Where do you find your ideas and inspiration. So far my searches have only turned up card printables, but nothing with the creativeness of a digi scrapped card.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I make my Christmas cards every year. Go to the DD ideas section and search for Christmas cards. There are some awesome ones out there! You can also visit the card gallery and find inspiration! Good luck!

Talking

I've just come back to say that I'd found so many goodies on this site, I'm beside myself with excitement. Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. The search on this forum did a great job for me, much better than google!

Thank you.

I make my as well ... the past two years I've used a collage of photos, but prior to that I used just one. Lots of fun!

I have done digi cards for the past two years... it is so much easier and faster for me. I send over 150 cards and making them by hand was killing me! I think I posted mine last year... I will have to check?

I make all kinds of digi cards and have even figured out how to print them my self. I do have to do a little trimming, but hey it's worth it.

I am pondering a photo-less one this year--getting the photo or photos is always such an effort! I loved the one Cathy Zielske posted on her site recently, using word art that will be in the store on Sunday.

I've done digital cards the past several years. Most years I've printed 5x7 photos and used them that way. Last year I printed folding cards at Mpix.

In years past, I sent photo cards. Last year I designed our card digitally (with photos) and had them printed at Vista Prints. I was very pleased with them and will probably do that again this year.

I like to make my own cards as well. I like to combo a digi with traditional scrapbooking materials. That reminds me a better get started. Can't wait to see everyone's cards

I used to make and print a card. Last year, in an effort to be more green, I created a Year in Review layout:
Christmas Card 2008 - Digital Scrapbooking Ideas - DesignerDigitals

and emailed it to all our family and friends with a Christmas letter instead.

Holiday FotoLetter Templates No. 01 - Digital Scrapbooking Templates
Holiday Letter Templates No. 01 - Digital Scrapbooking Templates

This approach worked for me because it got to the core of the matter. It allowed me to tell everyone about our year as well as will them a happy holiday and new year in a unique way.

I have been doing digital newsleters for the last 10 years or so....looking back, my first creations were pretty rough, I'm more satisified with them now that I have found such wonderful supplies here at DD. I also do digital invitations for our annual Thanksgiving and other events. Mary your card from last year is just beautiful!

I used to make my own cards for all my christmas cards, I made about 125 - 150 cards and would make 3 or 4 designs and then make them in an assembly line. This year I will probably do the same but change the size - I used to do 4.25 x 5.5". I like the idea of the 5x5.

For inspiration, I look a lot of places. I window shop at the halmark store and then find elements (all DD for me this year) to make it personal to me and my family & Friends. I also watch stamping catalogs, and merge it all together.

I don't usually include the photo in them, because I personally love receiving individual photo's of family and friends, then I put them on a nice traditional scrapbook page in our christmas album, and I hate the idea of someone cutting up my cards to save the photo. :-(

I like the idea of digital, but so many of my friends get excited when they get mail that I think they would be dissapointed if I just e-mailed it to them.
