Any ACDSee experts out there?

While organizing my supplies, I accidentally sent several of them to the Recycle Bin. I immediately went there and restored them all. They appear in the folders as they were originally, however, now I am not able to set categories for any of these restored files. I am still able to set categories for files that were not sent to the Recycle Bin. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Gosh. I use ACDSee all the time and have not have that problem. But I've not restored from the Recycle Bin either. What happens if you navigate to the folder using Windows and copy and make a copy of the file? Are you able to add your tags in ACDSee then?

I tried that. I copied the files into another folder - new name and everything, but it still won't let me set a category. I've tried setting the category by dragging and by using the drop down menu - neither work. It's really strange.

amy- are you still having problems?
I am going to try this out and see what happens..... I know I have deleted things from ACDSee but I don't remember having an issue with it.
It could also be that I just didn't notice....

What version are you using?

BTW- I really wish that ACDsee PM had an Undo feature...

OK- I just deleted a QP file. I had the author set, entered a keyword and tagged it with a category. Then after I restored the file, the author stayed, but the keyword and category were both stripped. I was able to re-tag it however.

I tried it again, using the embed metadata feature in 2009, and it did the same. It strips that info, but I am able to re-tag....

Have you tried posting over at Digiscrapinfo or acdsee?
