Default Using Light Room with Snow Leopard?

Not a LR user but this caught my eye on Twitter.

For those using Lightroom under Snow Leopard: ⌘-i in Finder and uncheck 32-bit for a huge speed boost (via @danbenjamin) Great tip!

OK, I saw this and ran (well, drove, actually) to the mall to get Snow Leopard!

I am giddy with excitement and about to install it! I have been working the past couple of weeks and had no time to do this until now! I will check back in after the installation!

OK! I installed Snow Leopard on both my Macs last night (I bought the family license). It took about 45 minutes on each machine, no problems.

I have a 13" Mac Book and a Mac Mini, with added RAM and a 24" monitor. I actually use them both for scrapping, just because I like using the Mac Book and being with the family in the living room or in front of the TV, even though I can't really see well enough on the 13" screen.

I freed up 17 GB on my Mac Book HD, and only 8 GB on the Mac Mini HD.

I also tried LR and Maureen's tip does make it open much faster!

Ok, I just finally installed Snow Leopard. I went to applications, right clicked on the LR icon, clicked on more info and I don't see any box to uncheck. What am I missing?

When I went to check on this I found that the 32 bit mode box was already unchecked. The little box was in the Get Info window that came up when I clicked on the LR icon in my Applications folder, Kelly.

I am using the Lightroom 3 Beta version I downloaded for free. (I guess my time is running out using it as it will only work until the new version comes out for purchase.)

Mine was also unchecked Merr.
When I opened mine up there were the headings
>Spotlight Comments
>General
>More Info etc

I clicked on the general and underneath the subcategory label: , there were two unchecked boxes, one being open in 32 Bit mode. (Bummer cuz I think my computer is SLOW!)
Hope that helps,
D

Thanks for the response, Mollie and Doris! My two boxes (under General) say "open using Rosetta" and "locked" (this one isn't even bold telling me that you can't do anything with it). :O\ I have LR vs 1.4.1 I wonder if that's the problem?
