Hold off on those Apple purchases . . .
Apple has announced an "event" for September 9th. That's code for "we have something new and cool to unveil." Rumor is it will be related to the iPods, and possibly an announcement of having the Beatles catalog in iTunes, but you just never know.
I love these things.

Well, I finally broke down and bought an iPod touch--so it HAS to be that. Sigh.

I think I'd actually be far more excited about the Beatles catalog appearing on iTunes! My collection of Mac products is right where it should be (for the time being, anyway!).

Patricia, I thought of that--but I have already bought apps and loaded books on with the kindle app (I don't own a kindle, but thought the kindle app would make the iPod touch a reasonable expense just for that!) Day one out of the box it was LOADED. So, taking it back might be tricky. I am in this boat frequently, and such is life.

Wow, Kathie, I didn't know there was a Kindle app for the Touch! I just bought DH a Kindle for his birthday, and he loves it. I have to go check out this app for my Touch....
I got my Touch last year for free when I bought my Mac Book for school. I am pretty sure they have that same promotion going now. Last year they introduced the new Touch right after that promotion ended, so it probably is a new Touch. I still happy with my old Touch, though!

oh, I love love love the kindle app... I love how I can "carry" around 10 or more books with me and read anyone that I want to at any time.
best reason for the iTouch so far.... ... well, that and keeping the kids entertained waiting in line, at a restaurant, at the doctors office.....

Kelly, the kindle app is free at amazon. I don't own a kindle but love the reader and have bought several amazon e-books. If you do have a kindle, the app will sync with it so you will be in the same place. I couldn't justify a kindle AND a touch (iPod) but this made it like a "two-for". Love reading in bed with it-no need to have a light on and when I fall asleep it shuts off.

well Will just ran over to see what I was watching - lets just say....there is a certain boy at my house with a birthday this weekend that has big dreams... (wont be getting it anytime soon - but LOVE IT!) and i dont have any ipod anything - but how cool that it may hit itunes!!!

Saw the big release notice for the Rock Band with the 9/9/9 and realized it is the same day as the Apple announcement--so yep, my bet is on the Beatles!! Not so excited about them being on iTunes since I already have most of the CDs, but the Rock Band? Now that looks like something we need. ;-)
