Default shutterfly ?, do you upload pages as you go...

or do you wait until all of your pages are complete for the whole book are done, and upload/create it at once?
I am doing a project 365 type album and I would like to start "building" it online at Shutterfly but I wonder if there are disadvantages to that.

Thanks!

Hey Tracy, I have done both, but I think that I'd prefer to do it as I go, so it's not so overwhelming at the end of the year. I don't see any disadvantages to doing it that way - Shutterfly is really easy to navigate. HTH! Becky

Does it affect the Shutterfly viewing? I have only made one book there, last year during Ali's "week in the life" challenge and I vaguely recall a reason for not wanting to do it as I go. Hmm? I agree, it would be less overwhelming. And I can always rearrange the page order on Shutterfly, right? Thanks for the response.

yes you can always rearrange and you can just keep your pages in an album on the site, without starting the book per se. I didn't do it yet, but I think it's a good idea!

I upload as I create pages. That way I can change the crop and check the Don't use Vivid Pics on each layout when I'm not in a hurry to get a book ready to order.

I organize the pages in themes for albums I might make. I've got several going at any one time. There is one for each grandchild, for example. I usually have those printed once a year. Currently, I am working on 2 heritage albums. One features my grandparents, parents and aunts and uncles. One is my life by decades using Katie's Book of Memories Layered Templates set.

I don't start the actual album until I have 20 or more pages ready that fit an album theme I want to print. Then I start working on the actual album.

I always upload as I create. It's much easier for me to do that than to keep track of my LO's and keep them in order on my computer.

I didnt upload as I went last year, and realized how much easier it was for me this year, so now I decided to upload monthly... I am not putting them into "books" but just having them there so I can then place in the various books that the pages will all go to at the end of the year (or next spring for the kids school albums), etc....

For my 365 project I'm uploading as I go. I love seeing the book gradually progress! And you get the added bonus of having them in a secure place!

I have lots of folders set up and upload layouts as I go ready for putting into a book. You never know when a super dooper offer happens along and you might need to do a book straight away.

i've never uploaded as i go, and everytime without fail i get caught with spending the entire night finishing and uploading to take advantage of a coupon or special. so on terry's advice, i've started proofreading and uploading about 2-3 at a time. it is going much more smoothly this time around, especially for my big 365 book.

Like some of the others, I upload as I create and finish a layout. I have about 6 different albums in progress and I like to look at them to see the flow of what I have going on. Also, like Carol said, if a super sale comes along, you could order right away.

I do what most of the other here do - upload as I go!
I also have several books/albums started at Shutterfly and it's easy to keep track of your progress if you're updated.

I've been uploading my 365 pages as I go... wish I'd been doing that with all my other layouts!

Not only that, but I believe that Shutterfly never delete what you have on there, so it's kind of a nice little insurance/back up system too. If a disaster happens you will always have your pages on there to print.
