Default The cold turkey was too much...

The withdrawal symptoms were too bad so I've had to get out my credit card and buy CS4. Only problem now is I have to wait for Adobe to check out my Educational status before they finish the process then I can download the suite!
I've never done that before, I've always had discs. Should I burn everything to DVD incase I need to re-install or what happens if there is a problem?

I was so impatient to get scrapping again that I thought the download thing would be quicker...now this waiting for clearance is a big pain! Hopefully they will get on to the college tomorrow and I'll get the link soon...I mean do Adobe NOT realise that I NEED to get scrapping SOON!!!!!!

congrats on buying CS4, it's a great program be warned though you will be at it 8 hours a day. Can't think why you have to wait I sent my student number via email and only took one day. To answer your question, no you do not have to copy to a DVD, all you history and your licence numbers are strored in Adobe Data Base so if at any time you need to reload the program you will be able to do it on line. you must register the program .

Congratulations Fiona! Hope they get you sorted out quickly!

I also went the download route for my CS4 upgrade when I have always had boxes before that. It has worked out great. You just log into your Adobe account, and as long as you have registered everything, you will not only see your new CS4 with links to download but also will see all of your serial numbers for past versions.

It was very handy before San Antonio when I was putting CS4 on my laptop. I could just go there, do the download and had all my serial numbers in one spot so that during the installation when it asked for my previous serial numbers that I was upgrading from, it was quick and easy.

Ooh, lucky you! Hope they sort out the educational status soon.

I went for the download route for PSE as I was too impatient to wait for discs to be delivered, and it's fine. When I got my new laptop, I just looked up the Adobe site and could download the program again to it by signing in to the site.

Such good advice! I, on the other hand, prefer having that disk in my hand! But it seemed relatively painless for you guys so maybe this old dog should learn new tricks!
