Default What I love most about Thursday shopping specials...

is that I discover things in the store I didn't know existed. Nor did I know that I had to have them : )

I can almost hear my credit card crying a plaintive "not again" every Thursday. But then I think: I'm feeding my creativity here, which is important. I just have to remember to keep it under control!!! (That sure is hard to do sometimes, though!) : )

With over 6000 items in the store a lot of older great items go un-noticed. That is why the items on TT are totally random to help with this.

Randy,

just cause I wondered, how do you decide what is on sale each week...or is it just some random program...

I just use the RAND function in Excel, nothing magical at all.

Mary, I always wondered about how things are picked to go on sale too & just asked Randy a couple weeks back. (The mysteries behind the scenes that he just makes work somehow! LOL)

I wonder if the Rand function would let us slip our Wishlist in somehow! Since Randy is The IT Man, I'm sure he could figure a way!

That's what quarterly sales are for. Then EVERYTHING on your wishlist is there..

I had to laugh at the sale page...there were ***300*** items! It took me forever to decide! Here's how I think of it: A movie is about 2 or 2 1/2 hours and costs $9.00 here. It seems to me that I get 2 1/2 hours of joy looking through the items, most of which I never saw before. So, basically it's the same cost as a movie. PLUS I get even more joy using the items I bought, then a forever kind of joy if I ever finish and print anything I'm working on! It's kind of a triple bargain, now, isn't it? )

I was bad for buying the same thing twice..so now I add stuff to my wish list when it is new...and always check there first when there is a sale. That has cut down on my "rebuying" stuff (made that word up!) Most of the time when you buy something off the wish list it shows up that it's in the cart..but sometimes not..but better now than it was I think!

Randy, one feature I'd LOVE is one I've seen elsewhere. If you go to buy an item by putting it in your cart, there is a message that says "You own this."

Now, I pretty much check my DD folder when I am adding to the cart but I'm getting older you know! (I also try to remember to take purchased items off my wishlist IMMEDIATELY. I think Vicki gets what I mean!) Maureen

Seriously? It's random?! I kept trying to figure out the method to the madness! Silly me.

I love finding new things, too, Mary, and finding I NEED them. I always check to see if anything on my wish list is on sale, but even then I don't always buy those items, because other things catch my eye.

Yes, I always wondered how you worked it out! I wondered if it was kits whose sales had been quiet for a while...
I know there's LOTS in the shop, but I spend LOTS of time looking and thought I was familiar with most of it - but like Mary said, I was surprised to see some real yummies in this week's list that I didn't know existed - like the Vintage Photo Strips Super Pak.

Randy, I know you asked for suggestions for the site upgrade earlier, will there be an option to sort the wishlist by kit name? I wish the paper packs and element packs listed together. I even deleted them from my list and added them back in together hoping they would list next to each other but that didn't work!

the random picks this week were really good (or really bad for my credit card). For some reason, I seem to have found so many more treasures this week.

Not sure on that one. Might be custom programming.

Ah, I was just in time to snag those Vintage Photo Strips, Esther. Thanks for the heads up.

Randy, yes, make that a quadruple bargain. LOL.

Maureen & Vicki, I went through my wishlist as soon as I read your posts. The problem I will run into is choosing something like Vintage Stacked Frames No 2, but forgetting the number of the exact one I wanted. Was it No. 2 or No. 3? Do I already have No 2 or No. 3? LOL! There are so many that are named like that -- botanical brushes, stamps, things with the word notebook, vintage or genealogy -- all kinds of things I know I will be really messed up unless I am super careful.
