OK gals you made me cry... reading all that "confection sweetness" you poured all over me... and now after it's all mixed up I am gonna get STICKY... and I really got to get packing... have two days left... and every day my feet just lead me to my office, to computer and my fingers just open directly the DD's page and everything else gets forgotten... I am addicted to you all... and I don't know how I'm gonna be for the whole two weeks without this "purply-lavender" colored screen starring back at me... sobbing... sobb... sob...........

Default SLC Crop

Well, my post is a little late, been here in Seattle soaking up the love of these
grandpeople. They are at daycare today so I have some time.

I am soooo glad that Delta charged no more miles for me to stop in SLC on my way to Seattle. I had a blast being at the crop.

I immediately recognized Katie and Randy, Valerie (Mrs. B), Janet and all her BEAUTIFUL daughters, Laura, Carol (c-staff) and Chrissy. Took just a minute to figure out who Diane (Scrapbird) was.

I sat with Carol, Valerie, Cindy and several other ladies from the SLC area. We really had fun together! Hung out some with the Long girls, Chrissy and Laura-even took some photos of all the creative team discussing DD's in the hallway. Totally screwed up the settings on the speedlite so none of those turned out! Ahhh...

Katie and Randy were generous and gracious hosts. Thanks again for all the wonderful goodies provided-food, freebies, technical assistance and fun. One of the most fun conversations of the evening was listening to Katie, Randy and Diane comparing their driving experiences in Ireland.

I will save up all my pennies to go to any other of these that are scheduled! It is so fun to meet everyone in person!

First, I have to say, that there's nothing I can do to top Tatiana's post. So I won't try. We live a few miles away from each other, and I am determined to hook up with her for a photo walk of our own! Let's do it Tatiana!

Who did you immediately recognize? Kelly (totally elegant), Terry (I was eye level!!!), Kristin (she had that adorable Danica by her side), Donita (I'll never think of you as Doni-tab again, she's a sweet soul), Linda Farabee (a brilliant journalism teacher who I wanted to chat more with), and Patricia (she is simply unmistakable). Then Phyllis and Tracy introduced themselves, and I finally got to meet the GREAT Sarah H!

What was your favorite challenge? Ummm challenge? I had a hard time with those because I was gabbing so much. I did enjoy the 30 MM because I somehow cranked it out.

Did everyone bring their laptop? Pretty much. So glad I brought mine.

How many challenges were there? There were 4, but again, the gabathon was rolling.

Did you have snacks while you cropped? What snacks? I was too giddy! But I did manage to inhale a huge plate of chips and salsa.

What did you learn? Maybe something I knew was just reinforced: I have the best friends in the world.

When is the next one? Couldn't be soon enough for me! I'm there!

Since I am the one who is usually asking questions and never answering.... I'll ask my own. I quit apologizing for being serious and deep a long time ago.

What is the secret of DesignerDigitals success?
Katie and Randy are in love with each other. They are in love with DesignerDigitals. They pour love into their work and into the site we call home. These two spread the joy and delight of what we do deep into each week's challenges, the tone of the site and now into the real life, meet your true friends chats we enjoyed. What goes around, comes around.

How can you just sit down with these people you have never met and spend a weekend? Oh, we have met. We know each other really well from our pages and from our shared weirdness of practicing an art form so new that hardly anyone outside our brood gets what we do.

Did being at this weekend meeting change you or the way you work with your art? YES!
I have my tribe now. I will teach my friends and my family about the complexities of digital art and how to appreciate my work. I have back up. All of you confirm all of us. YES!

Since each of us at the San Antonio crop have been variously described I don't need to add to that fun trip. I will say though that the actual question which Terry (MIDA) asked me was whether I analyzed everyone all the time. THAT is the question to which I replied "o, no. you have to pay me to do that!" For my opinions there is no charge!

My opinion is that LOVE is an excellent basis for creating a thriving community of artists.

Oh Patricia. This was beautiful to read. You had me goose-bumped all over.

Oh, and do you want to me my guru? Please?

{hug}

Another thing.... for the next crop.... can I entice you all with a bit of holy soil under your feet? :wink wink: Hah. How about that?? You can even get by wearing a cowboy hat around here!

I will go anywhere! It was that much fun!

Patricia said it so well. Katie and Randy have a very large family now and I hope to meet each and every member.

Thanks for the updates! So fun to read about the weekend! Love this comment by Terry (mida)--Katrina lost her name tag and I found it on her leg----don't ask me why she put it on her leg!
