Do they send these kind of coupons out often? I don't have all my layouts ready to put in a book yet. Do I need to register at shutterfly to get the coupons or do they usually only send them to those who have purchased previously?

Hey- did you get the email about the NEW SIZES????
8 X 11--- YAAAAHHOOOOOO!!! Here's the link.... Photo Books, Photo Albums, Create a Photo Book, Personalized Photo Album | Shutterfly |

I didn't start receiving them until I had ordered a couple of books and now, the deals seem to keep getting better and better.
20-30% off is pretty usual Denise. I would say every couple of months, especially around holidays. The only pretty common one is buy 1 book, get 1 book 50% off. This is the first 50% flat I have seen & now, better get butt in gear to put together my kitty book to print! |

Mine is 25% and free shipping, I got excited when I saw new sizes, but no 10" x 10" yet. Still waiting . . .

I'm just excited they're offering the landscape 8x11 size- i don't care for 12 x 12 for storage reasons, and 8x8 is too small sometimes. Now if they'd also offer the portrait version of 8x11, my life would be complete!!!
(my 12x12 P365 pages are done with some resistance

I received an email as well (the 25% one). But I think its because I have one started, but I haven't finished -- so they sent out a little prod to get me going (and boost sales, I'm sure). That way if people started one and were on the fence about spending the money -- this helps those of us that are a bit indecisive

mine is 25 and free shipping also. I might just do it...

I didn't get one either, and I have a free 8X8 coupon sitting at Shutterfly, but haven't been able to use it in months because it doesn't work in conjunction with free shipping! I can't check the "make me pay for shipping and give me my book" option!!! Ugh. It's been one of those days.

Mine is for 25% off-can't scoff at that deal either. The book about our beach trip is almost finished. Have to have husband proof the spelling, make jpg's and send it off.

After all my fussing and fuming, I was ready to go to Blurb, but I decided to call Shutterfly as a last-ditch effort to fix things.
I have a coupon for a free 8X8, but I couldn't use it in conjunction with the free shipping offer. Since they've had free shipping since who knows when, I was afraid the coupon would expire. Apparently, the Print Your Digital Scrapbook falls in the same ambiguous category as "Martha Stewart" and "Thomas the Train" books. They're considered premium books even though that description is nowhere on the website; it's a little misleading. I've looked for the fine print and can't find it anywhere. The rep said that Print Your Digital Scrapbook does not qualify for the free shipping promotion (has anyone seen that spelled out anywhere??), but he went ahead and changed it to a plain old photo book so I could print for free and ship for free. I was willing to pay for the shipping, but I'm not complaining. My concern is that this is the third time something squirrely has happened with a book. Apparently, the Print Your . . . category is its own thing completely. Anyway, I'm happy, but I feel guilty that I had to call Customer Service. Am I trying to get away with something dishonest?

Sarah,
For what it's worth, I don't think you're trying to get away with anything. Because I didn't know about Shutterfly doing their digital scrapbook products, I've historically always used their normal books (generally the 8x11s) and just selected each individual page as a full, single photo - which was actually my scrapped page saved as a jpeg. I'm not sure what the difference really is - except the scrapping pages look gray prior to filling them and the regular book pages give you lots of options for layouts, backgrounds, etc. that I never use. I don't understand why they want to charge more for to fill the plainer book anyway. -Lynn |

Oops! Those free shipping deals don't apply in Australia, so I just trashed the email and didn't even see the 25% off deal (exclusively for me
)!!Now, if only I could finish the last few pages in any one of the many books I've got on the go....

That's never made sense to me, either, because the only difference with the digital book is that we do our own covers and spine---but the printing and binding is the same. What's the production difference between picking one of their covers, and using yours? I guess I just have to keep calling!

Maybe at some point they'll open a satellite production facility somewhere else so shipping is more reasonable for y'all!

I don't think it would be hard, I don't see why they couldn't open a plant in Australia. But $25 isn't TOO bad, I pay $14 to ship a 12X12 book.
